Chapter 4 · Verse 355
स प्ञुर्व्यो महोनां वेनः क्रतुभिर् आनजे. यस्य द्वारा मनुः पिता देवेषु धिय आनजे
Yasya dvårå manu¨ pitå deve¶u dhiya ånaje. He, eternal spirit of the universe, love and desire and indeed the ideal of the great among humanity, is realised through holy acts of prayer and yajna, by the doors of whose grace the thinking man, fatherly man sustainer of life, attains noble knowledge and competence for action among the divinities of nature and humanity.
हे शाश्वत, महान आत्मा, जो पवित्र कर्मों और यज्ञों द्वारा प्राप्त होते हैं, जिनके माध्यम से मनुष्य, जीवन के पालक, देवों और मनुष्यों के बीच ज्ञान और कर्म की क्षमता प्राप्त करते हैं।

यदी वहन्त्याशवो भ्राजमाना रथेष्वा. पिबन्तो मदिरं मधु तत्र श्रवांसि कृण्वते
Pibanto madira≈ madhu tatra ‹ravå≈si kæƒvate. Where the alert and instantly moving Maruts, veteran scholars and achievers brilliant with knowledge and efficiency, take Indra, the ruler, by chariots of dynamic scientific advancement, to yajnic congregations, there enjoying the honey sweets of soma and exciting possibilities they create wealth of food, energy and excellences of art and culture.
जहाँ तेजस्वी मरुद्गण, जो ज्ञान और दक्षता से परिपूर्ण हैं, इन्द्र को गतिशील वैज्ञानिक प्रगति के रथों पर यज्ञस्थलों तक ले जाते हैं, वहाँ वे सोम के मधुर अमृत का पान करते हुए अन्न, ऊर्जा और कला-संस्कृति की उत्कृष्टताओं का धन सृजित करते हैं।

त्यमु वो अप्रहणं गृणीषे शवसस्पतिम्. इन्द्रं विश्वासाहं नरं शचिष्ंहं विश्ववेदसम्
Indra≈ vi‹våsåha≈ nara≈ ‹aci¶¢ha≈ vi‹vavedasam. All ye children of the earth, for you all I praise and celebrate that Indra, lord dispenser of justice and punishment without anger or violence, commander of power and forces of the nation, challenger of all negative forces of the world, leader of humanity, and great and glorious ruler of the men of vision and acts of universal value.
हे पृथ्वीपुत्रों, मैं तुम सबके लिए उस इंद्र की स्तुति करता हूँ जो बिना क्रोध या हिंसा के न्याय और दंड के प्रदाता, राष्ट्र की शक्ति और सेनाओं के सेनापति, विश्व की समस्त नकारात्मक शक्तियों को चुनौती देने वाले, मानवता के नेता और सार्वभौमिक मूल्य के कर्मों में लगे दूरदर्शी मनुष्यों के महान और तेजस्वी शासक हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 358
दधिक्राव्णो अकारिषं जिष्णोरश्वस्य वाजिनः. सुरभि नो मुखा करत् प्र न आय्ञुΔषि तारिषत्
Surabhi no mukhå karat pra na åyμuΔ¶i tåri¶at. We sing in praise of Dadhikra, divine energy, victorious, all achieving spirit and power, who may, we pray, refine our sense of taste and other refinements and may help us live a full and healthy life across the floods of existence.
हे दिव्य शक्ति, विजयिनी, सर्वव्यापी ऊर्जा, हम आपकी स्तुति करते हैं, जो हमारे स्वाद इंद्रियों को परिष्कृत करें और हमें जीवन के प्रवाह में पूर्ण और स्वस्थ जीवन जीने में सहायता करें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 359
पुरां भिन्दुर्युवा कविरमितौजा अजायत. इन्द्रो विश्वस्य कर्मणो धर्ता वज्री पुरुष्ंउतः
Indro vi‹vasya karmaƒo dhartå vajr∂ puru¶¢uta¨. Breaker of the enemy forts, youthful, creative and imaginative, hero of boundless strength, sustainer of the acts of the world and disposer, wielder of the thunderbolt, universally acclaimed and celebrated is risen into prominence.
हे इन्द्र देव, आप शत्रु के दुर्गों को तोड़ने वाले, युवा, तेजस्वी, असीम बलशाली, विश्व के कर्मों के धारक और नियंत्रक हैं, वज्र धारण करने वाले, सर्वत्र प्रशंसित होकर प्रकट हुए हैं।

प्रप्र वस्त्रिष्ंउभं इषम् वन्दद्वी- रायेन्दवे. धिया वो मेधसातये पुरन्ध्या विवासति
For your progress, offer libations of holy fuel and fragrance, triple refined and intensified, with trishtubh hymns of Vedic formulae in the service of Indra, cosmic spirit of energy and power, happy and exciting, who inspires the brave and shines you with versatile creative intellect for the advancement of your science of yajna for further development.
हे इन्द्रदेव, आपकी उन्नति के लिए, हम पवित्र यज्ञ सामग्री और सुगंध अर्पित करते हैं, जो त्रिष्टुभ छंदों द्वारा स्तुति की गई है। आप ऊर्जा और शक्ति के देव हैं, जो हमें बहुमुखी बुद्धि से प्रेरित करते हैं और यज्ञ के विकास को बढ़ाते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 361
कश्यपस्य स्वर्विदो यावाहुः सयुजाविति. ययोर्विश्वमपि व्रतं यज्¤अं धीरा निचाय्य
Yayorvi‹vamapi vrata≈ yaj¤a≈ dh∂rå nicåyya. Veteran self-established sages who know the light of divinity and divine creation, having realized the truth in their mind and vision, say that there are two forces of Kashyapa, divine Intelligence, both simultaneous, whose sole law and purpose is to maintain the cosmic yajna of creative evolution through the operations of nature: these forces are like twins and complementary: centrifugal and centripetal versions of the divine cosmic energy.
कश्यप के दो दिव्य स्वरूपों को, जो स्वयं को प्रकाशित करते हैं, ज्ञानी ऋषियों ने अनुभव किया है। वे कहते हैं कि ये दोनों शक्तियाँ, जो एक साथ कार्य करती हैं, प्रकृति के माध्यम से ब्रह्मांडीय यज्ञ को बनाए रखने के लिए ही हैं।

Arcantu putrakå uta puramid dh涃varcata. O lovers of Yajna, lovers of union and just as the citizens adore and exalt a great city and the glorious ruler of the celestial city.
हे यज्ञ प्रेमियों, हे मिलन के अभिलाषियों, तुम सब मिलकर स्तुति करो, जैसे पुत्र अपने पिता की स्तुति करते हैं और जैसे नागरिक एक महान नगर और देवलोक के शासक का आदर करते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 363
उक्थमिन्द्राय शँन्स्यं वर्धनं पुरुनिष्षिधे. ›अक्रो यथा सुतेषु नो रारणत् सख्येषु च
vardhana≈ puruni¶¶idhe. ›akro yathå sute¶u no råraƒat sakhye¶u ca. Just as a man rejoices with his children and friends and bestows lots of knowledge and wealth on them, so does Shakra, omnipotent Indra, lord of wealth and knowledge, rejoice to bestow admirable mantras of elevating light of Vedic lore on the generous soul for its advancement.
हे इन्द्रदेव! आप अपने भक्तों को ज्ञान और धन से वैसे ही समृद्ध करते हैं, जैसे कोई पिता अपने पुत्रों और मित्रों को प्रसन्न करता है। आप वैदिक ज्ञान के प्रकाश से उन्नत करने वाले स्तोत्रों से उदार आत्माओं को प्रसन्न करते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 364
विश्वानरस्य वस्पतिम् अनानतस्य शवसः. एवैश्च चर्षणीनाम् ञुती हुवे रथानाम्
Evai‹ca car¶aƒ∂nåm μut∂ huve rathånåm. I pray to Indra, your lord and father, master controller of the irresistible powers and forces of the universe, for divine protection of the people by the dynamics of his moving powers of nature and humanity.
हे इन्द्र देव! आप विश्व के स्वामी और सामर्थ्य के नियंत्रक हैं, मैं आपकी स्तुति करता हूँ कि आप अपनी अजेय शक्तियों से समस्त सृष्टि की रक्षा करें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 365
स घा यस्ते दिवो नरो धिया मर्तस्य शमतः.ª उती स बृहतो दिवो द्विषो अँन्हो न तरति
tarati. The mortal man at peace who with his intelligence you, Indra, lord and leader of the light of heaven, he enjoys peace and prosperity under protection of the vast heaven and crosses over all hate and jealousy as well as sin and evil.
हे प्रकाशमय स्वर्ग के स्वामी इंद्र! जो मनुष्य अपनी बुद्धि से आपकी शरण लेता है, वह सभी द्वेष, ईर्ष्या, पाप और बुराई को पार कर जाता है और स्वर्ग के विशाल आश्रय में सुख-समृद्धि का आनंद लेता है।
Chapter 4 · Verse 366
विभोष्ंअ इन्द्र राधसो विभ्वी रातिः शतक्रतो. अथा नो विश्वचर्षणे द्युम्नं सुदत्र मँन्हय
Athå no vi‹vacar¶aƒe dyumna≈ sudatra ma~nhaya. Indra, hero of a hundred holy actions with insight and counsel, wide and high are your powers and wealth, abundant your gifts. Ultimate watcher and observer of all that is in the world, ruler of the mighty social order, lead us on to wealth, power, honour and excellence and help us rise to the heights.
हे सौ कर्मों के स्वामी, हे इंद्र! आपकी शक्ति और धन विस्तृत और महान हैं, आपकी दानशीलता अपार है। हे सर्वव्यापी, हे महान शासक, हमें धन, शक्ति और उत्तमता की ओर ले चलें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 367
वयश्चित्ते पतत्रिणो. द्विपाच्चतुष्पादर्जुनि. उषः प्रारन्नृत्ञुँन्रनु दिवो अन्तेभ्यस्परि
U¶a¨ prårannætμu~nranu divo antebhyaspari. Blessed Dawn, fiery messenger of light and life, may humans and animals as the birds of flight, we pray, rise and reach unto the bounds of heaven in pursuance of the time and seasons of your arrival.
हे उषा देवी, प्रकाश और जीवन की दूत, जैसे पक्षी उड़ते हैं, वैसे ही मनुष्य और पशु भी आपकी आगमन की ऋतुओं और समय का अनुसरण करते हुए स्वर्ग की सीमाओं तक पहुँचें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 368
अमी ये देवा स्थन मध्य आ रोचने दिवः. कद्व ऋतम् कदमृतं का प्रत्ना व आहुतिः
Kadva ætam kadamæta≈ kå pratnå va åhuti¨. O lords of knowledge, who or what are those divine powers of existence abiding in the light of heaven by their name, identity and state of being in the three regions of the universe? Where is the law of cosmic dynamics of evolution? What is truth and what is untruth? What is eternal and constant? What is existential and mutable? What was the first mutation of Prakrti in the cosmic yajna? What is going to be the last and closing oblation in the cosmic vedi? (May the heaven and earth know and reveal it for us.) (Rg. 1-105-5) °Rca≈ såma yajåmahe yåbhyå≈ karmåƒi kæƒvate. Vi te sadasi råjato yaj¤a≈ deve¶u vak¶ata¨. We use and chant Rks and Samans while we perform yajna, (Rks which give us the knowledge of the facts and processes of nature to be applied in programmes of human action, and the Samans which joyously celebrate the successful completion of the programme). By these, all works are initiated, conducted and completed. They shine, resonate, and glorify the yajna in the hall and they conduct the yajna in the divine forces of nature in the universe.
हे ज्ञान के स्वामियों, वे दिव्य शक्तियाँ कौन हैं जो स्वर्ग के प्रकाश में अपने नाम, पहचान और अस्तित्व की अवस्था में तीनों लोकों में निवास करती हैं?
Chapter 4 · Verse 370
विश्वाः पृतना अभिभ्ञुतरं नरः सज्ञुस्त- तक्षुरिन्द्रम् जजनुश्च राजसे. क्रत्वे वरे स्थेमन्यामुरीम् उतोग्रम् ओजिष्ंहं तरसम् तरस्विनम्
All the citizens together, in order to elect an equal for the purpose of governance, create and shape Indra, the ruler, the leader who is superior to others in all battles of life, highest by noble creative action, eliminator of negative and frustrative opposition, illustrious, most vigorous and emphatic in expression, courageous and passionate in action.
हे मनुष्यों, समस्त प्रजा मिलकर, शासन के लिए श्रेष्ठतम, युद्धों में विजयी, महान कर्मों से युक्त, विघ्नों को दूर करने वाले, तेजस्वी, बलवान और पराक्रमी राजा इंद्र का निर्माण करती है।
Chapter 4 · Verse 371
›रत्ते दधामि प्रथमाय मन्यवेइ᳓हन् यद् दस्युं नर्यं विवेरपः. उभे यत्त्वा रोदसी धावतामनु भ्यसात्ते शुष्मात् पृथिवी चिद्- अद्रिवः
Indra, potent ruler of nature and humanity, lord of thunder and clouds, mover of mountains, I am all faith, reverence and admiration in truth of commitment for your first and foremost power and passion by which you break the clouds and release the showers of rain for humanity, by virtue of which both heaven and earth abide by your law, the power and force by which the firmament shakes with awe.
हे इन्द्र, मैं सत्य निष्ठा से आपकी प्रथम और परम शक्ति के प्रति श्रद्धा और भक्ति अर्पित करता हूँ, जिससे आप मेघों को विदीर्ण कर मानवजाति के लिए वर्षा का संचार करते हैं, और जिसके बल पर स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी आपके विधान का पालन करते हैं। आपकी शक्ति से ही यह ब्रह्मांड विस्मय से काँपता है।
Chapter 4 · Verse 372
समेत विश्वा ओजसा पतिं दिवो य एक इद् भ्ञुर्- अतिथिर् जनानाम्. स प्ञुर्व्यो न्ञुतनमाजिगीषं तं वर्त्तनीरनु वावृत एक इत्
All ye people of the world, come together with all your power and luster under one banner of the sole lord of the universe who, alone by himself, is the one adorable lord of humanity. He, the one eternal absolute lord, by himself alone, initiates and guides the ever new emerging persons and powers keen for success and victory to tread on the paths of action they should follow.
हे विश्व के समस्त जनो! अपनी सम्पूर्ण शक्ति और तेज के साथ उस एकमात्र परमेश्वर के आश्रय में आओ, जो समस्त लोकों का स्वामी है और मनुष्यों के लिए एकमात्र पूजनीय अतिथि है। वही पुरातन, नित्य और परमेश्वर, स्वयं ही नवीनता को उत्पन्न करता है और विजय की अभिलाषा रखने वाले व्यक्तियों को उचित कर्म पथ पर अग्रसर करता है।
Chapter 4 · Verse 373
इमे त इन्द्र ते वयं पुरुष्ंउत ये त्वारभ्य चरामसि प्रभ्ञुवसो. न हि त्वदन्यो गिर्वणो गिरः सघत्क्षोणीरिव प्रति तद्धर्य नो वचः
These are yours, Indra, We are yours, lord praised and celebrated by all. Beginning with you we go about the business of living, lord of existence and shelter of life. Other than you there is no one else, lord of holy Word, who would listen to our prayer. Hear our prayer as the voice of earth and humanity and respond with grace.
हे इन्द्र, ये सब आपके ही हैं, हम भी आपके ही हैं, हे सर्वपूजित देव। आपके ही आश्रय से हम जीवन का कार्य करते हैं, हे जीवन के स्वामी। हे स्तुति के योग्य देव, आपके सिवा ऐसा कोई नहीं जो हमारी स्तुति को सुने।
Chapter 4 · Verse 374
चर्षणीधृतं मघवानम् उक्थ्याम् इन्द्रं गिरो बृहतीरभ्यन्ञुषत. वावृधानं पुरु- ह्ञुतं सुवृक्तिभिरमर्त्यं जरमाणं दिवे- दिवे
Address these comprehensive words of prayer and celebration with offers of yajna to Indra, lord ruler and sustainer of the people, munificent, honourable, growing in power and prosperity, universally acclaimed and celebrated, immortal in fame and glory, close and closer day by day in love and exhortation of the people. Let the songs glorify the lord.
हे इन्द्र देव, जो महान, स्तुति योग्य, धनवान, अनेक यज्ञों से पूजित, सदा वर्धमान, अमर और प्रतिदिन प्रेम से पुकारे जाने वाले हैं, उन प्रभु की स्तुति गान करो।
Chapter 4 · Verse 375
अच्छा व इन्द्रं मतयः स्वर्युवः सध्रीचीर्विश्वा उशतीरन्ञुषत. परि ष्वजन्त जनयो यथा पतिं मर्यं न शुन्ध्युं मघवानम्ञुतये
All my thoughts, words and actions, all together in perfect unison concentrated on the love and light of divinity, ecstatically adore and celebrate Indra, lord almighty of existence. Just as wives with love embrace their human lover, protector and husband, so do my prayers centre on Indra, lord of glory, power and purity, for all round protection, promotion and well being.
हे इन्द्र देव! मेरी सभी चेतनाएँ, वाणी और कर्म, पूर्ण सामंजस्य में, आपके दिव्य प्रेम और प्रकाश पर केंद्रित होकर, आपको आनंदपूर्वक पूजते हैं। जैसे पत्नियाँ प्रेम से अपने पति को गले लगाती हैं, वैसे ही मेरी प्रार्थनाएँ आपकी महिमा, शक्ति और पवित्रता के लिए आप पर केंद्रित हैं, जो सर्वव्यापी सुरक्षा और कल्याण प्रदान करते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 376
अभि त्यं मेषं पुरुह्ञुतम् ऋग्मियम् इन्द्रं गीर्भिर्मदता वस्वो अर्णवम्. यस्य द्यावो न विचरन्ति मानुषं भुजे मंहिष्ंहमभि विप्रमर्चत
Indra, lord of power and glory, destroyer of enemies. Celebrate and exhilarate Him who is generous and virile, universally invoked and honoured, master of the Riks, wielder of wealth deep as ocean, greatest of the great, and lord of knowledge and wisdom. His gifts and graces for humanity range around like rays of the lights of heaven for the joy of the people. O people of the world, thank and adore the lord all wise and most gracious.
हे मनुष्यो, उस महान, सर्वव्यापी, धनवान और ज्ञान के स्वामी इंद्र का यशोगान करो, जिनकी कृपाएँ स्वर्ग की किरणों के समान समस्त मानव जाति के आनंद के लिए विस्तृत हैं। हे बुद्धिमान जनो, उस सर्वज्ञ और परम कृपालु प्रभु की स्तुति और वंदना करो।
Chapter 4 · Verse 377
त्यं सु मेषं मह्या स्वर्विदं शतं यस्य सुभुवः साकमीरते. अत्यं न वाजं हव- नस्यदं रथम् इन्द्रं ववृत्याम् अवसे सुवृक्तिभिः
Honour that Indra, lord of glory and virile generosity who takes us high to the skies. Hundreds of noble and creative craftsmen together with their expert performance work on and engineer his glorious chariot which can cover the spatial paths across the skies for the sake of protection and defence. I wish I too could fly by that chariot.
हे इन्द्र देव! आप महिमावान, बलवान और उदार हैं, जो हमें ऊँचे आकाश तक ले जाते हैं। आपके रथ को सैकड़ों कुशल कारीगर मिलकर बनाते हैं, जो रक्षा के लिए हमें आकाश में दूर तक ले जा सकता है।
Chapter 4 · Verse 378
घृतवती भुवनानाम् अभिश्रियोर्वी पृथ्वी मधुदुघे सुपेशसा. द्यावापृथिवी वरु- णस्य धर्मणा विष्कभिते अजरे भ्ञुरिरेतसा
Radiant and fertile, beauties of the worlds, vast and abundant, extensive, replete with honey sweets, the sun and the earth are sustained by the laws of nature with the immanent will of Varuna, centre-hold of the universe. Undecaying they are, immensely creative and exuberant with the waters of life, beautiful, blissful.
हे द्यावा-पृथ्वी, आप विश्व की शोभा हैं, मधुरता से परिपूर्ण और अत्यंत विस्तृत हैं। वरुण के विधान से पोषित, ये अविनाशी, अत्यंत सृजनशील और जीवनदायिनी जल से भरपूर हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 379
उभे यदिन्द्र रोदसी आपप्राथोषा इव. महा- न्तम् त्वा महीनाम् सम्राजम् चर्षणीनाम्. देवी जनित्र्यजीजनद् भद्रा जनित्र्यजीजनत्
Indra, lord of light and glory, ruler of the world, when you fill the earth and the environment with splendour like the dawn, the divine Mother Nature raises you and manifests you as the great ruler of the great people of the world. The gracious mother elevates you in refulgence and majesty as the mighty Indra. (Indra at the cosmic level is the Lord Almighty; at the human level, the world ruler; and at the individual level, Indra is the soul, ruler of the body, senses, mind and intelligence.)
हे इन्द्र देव, जब आप पृथ्वी और वातावरण को उषा की भाँति अपनी महिमा से भर देते हैं, तब दिव्य जननी आपको महान शासक के रूप में प्रकट करती हैं। वह कृपालु जननी आपको तेज और ऐश्वर्य से युक्त महान शासक के रूप मेंElevate करती हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 380
प्र मन्दिने पितुमदर्चता वचो यः कृष्ण- गर्भा निरहन्नृजिश्वना. अवस्यवो वृषणम् वज्रदक्षिणं मरुत्वन्तं सख्याय हुवेमहि
All ye men and women of the earth, offer words of welcome and hospitality to joyous Indra, lord giver of the power of knowledge, who, in a simple natural manner, breaks open the secret treasures of the dark womb of nature and makes the streams of knowledge flow. We, seekers of protection and knowledge, invoke Indra, lord of light and power, rich and generous, expert in the use of the thunderbolt of knowledge against the demon of darkness, and commander of the tempestuous Maruts of social dynamics, and we pray for his love and friendship.
हे मनुष्यों, ज्ञान के दाता, आनंदमय इंद्र का स्वागत और सत्कार करो, जो प्रकृति के अंधकारमय गर्भ से ज्ञान के खजाने खोलकर ज्ञान की धाराएँ प्रवाहित करते हैं। हम सुरक्षा और ज्ञान के साधक, वज्रधारी, मारुतगणों के स्वामी, इंद्र को मित्रता के लिए आह्वान करते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 381
इन्द्र सुतेषु सोमेषुं क्रतुं पुनीष उक्थ्यम्. विदे वृधस्य दक्षस्य महाँन् हि षह्
Vide vædhasya dak¶asya mahå~n hi ¶ah. When a special yajnic programme for the realisation of special knowledge, power and expertise and praise to divinity, then Indra, lord omnipotent and omniscient, sanctifies the joint endeavour of holiness and blesses the programme with success. Great is he.
हे इन्द्र, जब विशेष ज्ञान, शक्ति और प्रशंसा के लिए यज्ञ का अनुष्ठान होता है, तब आप पवित्रता के संयुक्त प्रयास को शुद्ध करते हैं और उसे सफलता का आशीर्वाद देते हैं। आप महान हैं।

तमु अभि प्र गायत पुरुह्ञुतं पुरुष्ंउतम्. इन्द्रं गीर्भिस्तवीषमा विवासत
Indra≈ g∂rbhistav∂¶amå vivåsata. O celebrants, glorify Indra, universally invoked and praised, the lord who blazes with light and power, serve him with words and actions and let him shine forth in your life and achievement.
हे यज्ञकर्ताओं, सर्वत्र आहूत और प्रशंसित, प्रकाश और शक्ति से दीप्तिमान इन्द्र देव का गान करो। उन्हें वाणी और कर्म से प्रसन्न करो, जिससे वे तुम्हारे जीवन और उपलब्धियों में प्रकाशित हों।

तं ते मदं गृणीमसि वृषणं पृक्षु सास- हिम्. उ लोककृत्नुम् अद्रिवो हरिश्रियम्
O celebrants, glorify Indra, universally invoked and praised, the lord who blazes with light and power, serve him with words and actions and let him shine forth in your life and achievement.

Chapter 4 · Verse 384
यत् सोमम् इन्द्र विष्णवि यद्वा घ त्रित आप्त्ये. यद्व मरुत्सु मन्दसे समिन्दुभिः
Yadva marutsu mandase samindubhi¨. Indra, the soma nectar which you infuse in the sun and in the three worlds of experience, i.e., earth, heaven and firmament and which you infuse in the winds and enjoy to the last drop, we pray for.
हे इन्द्र! आप सूर्य में, तीनों लोकों में और वायु में जो सोम का रस भरते हैं, उस रस की हम प्रार्थना करते हैं।

एदु मधोर् मदिन्तरं सि¤चाध्वर्यो अन्धसः. एवा हि वीर स्तवते सदावृधः
And O high priest of the creative yajna of love and non-violence, offer the most delightful and ever exhilarating of honey sweets of the soma of faith and devotion to Indra, since thus is how the mighty hero is
हे प्रेम और अहिंसा के यज्ञ के उच्च पुरोहित, अत्यंत मधुर और सदा आनंददायक सोम रस का अर्पण करें, क्योंकि इसी प्रकार शक्तिशाली वीर की स्तुति की जाती है।

एन्दुमिन्द्राय सि¤चत पिबाति सोम्यं मधु. प्र राधाँन्सि चोदयते महित्वना
Pra rådhå~nsi codayate mahitvanå. Prepare, offer and regale Indra with the nectar drink of faith and performance. He values, enjoys and promotes the honey sweets of peace, pleasure and progress and with his greatness inspires the people with will and competence and ambition for progress and excellence.
हे इन्द्रदेव! श्रद्धा और कर्म के सोम-मधु का पान करके, आप अपनी महानता से शांति, सुख और प्रगति के अमृत का आनंद लेते हैं और लोगों को सामर्थ्य, महत्वाकांक्षा तथा उत्कृष्टता के लिए प्रेरित करते हैं।

एतो न्विन्द्रं स्तवाम सखायः स्तोम्यं नरम्. कृष्ंईर्यो विश्वा अभ्यस्त्येक इत्
Come friends all together and let us adore Indra, who, by himself alone, rules over all peoples of the world.
हे सखाओं, आओ हम सब मिलकर स्तुति करें उस स्तुति योग्य, महान् इन्द्र की, जो अकेले ही समस्त लोकों पर शासन करते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 388
इन्द्राय साम गायत विप्राय बृहते बृहत्. ब्रह्मकृते विपश्चिते पनस्यवे
Brahmakæte vipa‹cite panasyave. Sing Brhatsama hymns in adoration of Indra, vibrant spirit of the universe and giver of fulfilment, grand and infinite, source ordainer and keeper of the law of universal Dharma, giver and protector of knowledge and karma, the lord adorable.
हे विद्वानों, ब्रह्मांड के जीवंत, पूर्णता प्रदान करने वाले, महान और अनंत इंद्र के लिए बृहत्साम गान गाओ, जो धर्म के विधान के स्रोत, व्यवस्थापक और रक्षक हैं, ज्ञान और कर्म के दाता और रक्षक हैं, और पूजनीय प्रभु हैं।

Dear friend, the one sole lord who gives everything in life to the man of charity and generosity is Indra, supreme ruler of the world, who is constant, unmoved and unchallenged.
हे मित्र, जो एकमात्र प्रभु, धन और ऐश्वर्य के दाता हैं, वे ही महान इंद्र हैं, जो अटल, अप्रतिहत और जग के शासक हैं। वे ही दानशील मनुष्य को सब कुछ प्रदान करते हैं।

सखाय आ शिषामहे ब्रह्मेन्द्राय वज्रिणे. सतुष ञु षु वो नृतमाय धृष्णवे
Satu¶a μu ¶u vo nætamåya dh涃ave. Come friends, let us for your sake sing a song of adoration in honour of Indra, lord of power, wielder of the thunderbolt of justice and punishment in order to glorify the noblest leader of resolute will and inviolable command.
हे मित्रो, हम सब मिलकर उस शक्तिशाली इंद्र देव की स्तुति करें, जो न्याय और दंड के वज्र को धारण करते हैं, और जिनकी आज्ञा अटल है, उनकी महिमा का गान करें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 391
गृणे तदिन्द्र ते शव उपमां देवतातये. यद्धँन्सि वृत्रमोजसा शचीपते
Yaddha~nsi vætramojaså ‹ac∂pate. In praise of that admirable power and grandeur of yours, Indra, I sing for the pleasure of divine favour, by which, O lord of mighty noble acts, you destroy the demon of darkness and want by your force and splendour. Great and good are the gifts of Indra.
हे इन्द्र देव, आपकी अद्भुत शक्ति और महिमा का गान मैं आपकी कृपा प्राप्त करने के लिए करता हूँ, जिससे आप अपनी शक्ति और तेज से अंधकार और अभाव के शत्रु का नाश करते हैं। इन्द्र के उपहार महान और उत्तम हैं।

यस्य त्यच्छम्बरं मदे दिवोदासाय रन्धयन्. अयं स सोम इन्द्र ते सुतः पिब
Indra, lord of power and glory, this is that soma distilled and seasoned for you in the exhilaration and ecstasy of which you, like the sun on high, break down the forces of darkness and evil to promote the spirit of light and generosity. Pray drink of it to your heart's content and protect and promote the spirit of it.
हे इन्द्र देव, यह सोम रस आपके लिए ही तैयार किया गया है, जो शक्ति और ऐश्वर्य के स्वामी हैं। इस सोम का पान करके आप अंधकार और बुराई की शक्तियों का नाश करें और प्रकाश एवं उदारता के भाव को बढ़ाएं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 393
एन्द्र नो गधि प्रिय सत्राजिदगोह्य. गिरिर्न विश्वतः पृथुः पतिर्दिवः
Girirna vi‹vata¨ pæthu¨ patirdiva¨. Indra, come, take us over as your own. Dear and giver of fulfilment you are, all dominant by nature, character and action, inconceivably open and bright, expansive and unbounded all round like a cloud of vapour, lord and master of the light of heaven.
हे इन्द्र, हमारे प्रिय, सिद्धियों के दाता, सर्वव्यापी, अकल्पनीय रूप से खुले और तेजस्वी, विशाल और सर्वत्र फैले हुए, स्वर्ग के प्रकाश के स्वामी बनकर हमें अपने बना लें।

य इन्द्र सोमपातमो मदः शविष्ंह चेतति. येना हँन्सि न्यात्रिणं तमीमहे
Yenå ha~nsi nyåtriƒa≈ tam∂mahe. Indra, lord most potent, highest protector and promoter of the beauty and joy of life, that ecstatic passion of yours which universally pervades, manifests and reveals your might and glory and by which you destroy the negative forces of life, we adore and pray for.
हे इन्द्र, जीवन की सुंदरता और आनंद के सर्वोच्च रक्षक और प्रवर्तक, आपकी वह सर्वव्यापी, आनंदमयी शक्ति जो आपकी शक्ति और महिमा को प्रकट करती है और जिससे आप जीवन की नकारात्मक शक्तियों का नाश करते हैं, हम उसकी आराधना करते हैं।

हे आदित्यगण, प्रकाशमान और जीवनदायिनी ऊर्जाओं के स्वामी, हमारे बच्चों और उनकी संतानों के आनंदमय जीवन और दीर्घायु के लिए, उत्तम स्वास्थ्य और शांतिपूर्ण, सुखमय दीर्घायु का पवित्र उपहार प्रदान करें।

वेत्था हि निरृतीनाम् वज्रहस्त परिवृजम्. अहरहः शुन्ध्युः परिपदामिव
Aharaha¨ ‹undhyu¨ paripadåmiva. O lord of the thunderbolt of justice and right action, you know and wield the counter-active measures against adversities just as the sun, purifier of nature's impurities, has the capacity to counter them day by day.
हे वज्रहस्त प्रभु, आप जानते हैं कि आप विपत्तियों के विरुद्ध निवारक उपाय धारण करते हैं, ठीक वैसे ही जैसे सूर्य प्रतिदिन प्रकृति की अशुद्धियों को शुद्ध करता है।
Chapter 4 · Verse 397
अपामीवाम् अप स्रिधम् अप सेधत दुर्मतिम्. Åदित्यासो युयोतना नो अँम्हसः
Ådityåso yuyotanå no a~mhasa¨. May the Adityas, powers of light and life in nature and humanity, drive away all disease of body and mind and keep off negativities of thought and intelligence from us. May the children of imperishable divinity keep us safe, far away from the onslaughts of sin and adversity.
हे आदित्यगण, हे प्रकाश और जीवन के स्वरूप, आप हमारी शारीरिक और मानसिक व्याधियों को दूर करें, तथा हमारे विचारों और बुद्धि की नकारात्मकताओं को भी दूर भगाएँ। हे अविनाशी दिव्यता के पुत्रों, हमें पाप और विपत्ति के आक्रमणों से सुरक्षित रखें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 398
पिबा सोममिन्द्र मन्दतु त्वा यं ते सुषाव हर्यश्वाद्रिह्. सोतुर्बाहुभ्यां सुयतो नार्वा
Indra, lord ruler and controller of the dynamic forces of the world, drink this soma of ecstasy which, I am sure, would exhilarate you. The cloud, generative power of nature, has distilled it and showered on you. And just as a horse well controlled by the hands and reins of the driver moves to the right destination, so is this soma generated by the hands of the creator meant to exhort you to take the dominion to its destination.
हे इन्द्र देव, इस सोम रस का पान करें जो आपको आनंदित करेगा। यह सोम, प्रकृति की जननी शक्ति द्वारा निर्मित है और आपके लिए ही है, जो आपको अपने राज्य को सही दिशा में ले जाने के लिए प्रेरित करेगा।

अभ्रातृव्यो अना त्वमनापिरिन्द्र जनुषा सना- दसि. युधेदापित्वमिच्छसे
Indra, lord of absolute might by nature, since birth of the universe, indeed for eternity, you are without a rival, need no leader, no friend and no comrade, but in the dynamics of human life you do want that the human should be your companion in and for his struggle for self-evolution and social progress.
हे इन्द्र, आप जन्म से ही परम शक्तिशाली हैं, सृष्टि के आरम्भ से अनंत काल तक आपके समान कोई नहीं, न कोई स्वामी, न कोई मित्र। फिर भी, मानव जीवन के संघर्ष में आप चाहते हैं कि मनुष्य आत्म-विकास और सामाजिक प्रगति के लिए आपके साथी बनें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 400
यो न इदमिदं पुरा प्र वस्य आनिनाय तमु व स्तुषे. सखाय इन्द्रम्ञुतये
O friends, for the peace, freedom, progress and protection of you all, I pray to the same Indra, lord almighty, who has provided this beautiful world of joy for us since the very time of creation.
हे सखाओं, हम उस सर्वशक्तिमान इंद्र की स्तुति करते हैं, जिन्होंने सृष्टि के आरम्भ से ही हमारे लिए यह आनंदमय जगत् प्रदान किया है, जो हम सबके कल्याण, मुक्ति, प्रगति और रक्षा के लिए हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 401
Å गन्ता मा रिषण्यत प्रस्थावानो माप स्थात समन्यवः. दृढा चिद्यमयिष्णवः
Come Maruts, warriors of nature and humanity. Do not hurt nor destroy the innocent. Already on the move as ever, pray do not tarry any more far away. Heroes of equal passion, will and desire to accomplish your mission, you can bend even the firmest forces of violence and bring them to reason.
हे मरुद्गणों, हे प्रकृति और मानवता के योद्धाओं, कृपया आगे बढ़ें, पर किसी को कष्ट न पहुँचाएँ और निर्दोषों का विनाश न करें। हे समान उत्साह, इच्छाशक्ति और संकल्प वाले वीरों, आप तो दृढ़ से दृढ़ हिंसा को भी झुकाकर उसे विवेकपूर्ण बना सकते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 402
Å याह्ययमिन्दवेइ᳓श्वपते गोपत उर्वरापते. सोमं सोमपते पिब
Soma≈ somapate piba. Come lord of cows, horses and fertile lands, giver and protector of the nation and its glory, knowledge and wisdom and our creative activities, the somas of our success are for you to appreciate. O lord of life and life's joy of soma, come and join the ecstasy of our achievement and its celebration.
हे विश्वपति, गोपति, उर्वरपति, सोमपते! हे जीवन और आनंद के स्वामी, हमारे सफलताओं के सोम का पान करें, और हमारे उत्सव में सम्मिलित हों।
Chapter 4 · Verse 403
त्वया ह स्विद्युजा वयं प्रति श्वसन्तं वृषभ ब्रुवीमहि. संस्थे जनस्य गोमतः
By you alone as our friend and comrade, O lord almighty, generous giver, can we counter a gasping contestant in this settled world order of humanity full of lands and cows, blest as we are with the light of knowledge and culture.
हे सर्वशक्तिमान प्रभु, आपके मित्रवत सान्निध्य से ही हम इस ज्ञान और संस्कृति से परिपूर्ण, मनुष्यों और गौओं से युक्त संसार में आने वाली कठिनाइयों का सामना कर सकते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 404
गवश्चिद्धा समन्यवः सजात्येन मरुतः सबन्धवः. रिहते ककुभो मिथः
O Maruts, heroes of equal mind bound in brotherhood, even cows, by virtue of the same species sit together and love each other under your kind care even though they may be moving around in different directions.
हे मरुद्गण, समान चित्त वाले, भाईचारे से बंधे हुए, आपके कृपापूर्ण संरक्षण में, समान जाति की गायें भी एक साथ बैठती हैं और एक-दूसरे से प्रेम करती हैं, भले ही वे विभिन्न दिशाओं में घूम रही हों।
Chapter 4 · Verse 405
त्वम् न इन्द्रा भर ओजो नृम्णं शतक्रतो विचर्षणे. Å वीरं पृतनासहम्
Indra, lord of vision and hero of a hundred great actions, bring us abundant and illustrious strength, courage and procreative energy by which we may fight out and win many battles of our life.
हे इन्द्र, हे शतक्रतो, हे वीर, हमें वह बल, पराक्रम और शक्ति प्रदान करें जिससे हम जीवन के अनेक युद्धों में विजय प्राप्त कर सकें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 406
अधा हीन्द्र गिर्वण उप त्वा काम ईमहे ससृग्महे. उदेव ग्मन्त उदभिः
And O lord lover of song and celebration, Indra, we send up vaulting voices of adoration and prayer to you like wave on waves of the flood rolling upon the sea for the fulfillment of our dreams and ambitions.
हे इन्द्र, स्तुति और उत्सव के प्रेमी प्रभु, हम अपनी अभिलाषाओं की पूर्ति के लिए, जैसे लहरें समुद्र पर उठती हैं, वैसे ही अपनी स्तुति और प्रार्थना की ऊँची आवाज़ें आपके पास भेजते हैं।

सीदन्तस्ते वयो यथा गोश्रीते मधौ मदिरे विवक्षणे. अभि त्वामिन्द्र नोनुमः
Nestled like birds in the nest, in your exuberant, exciting, honey sweet yajnic world of light and joy overflowing with delicacies of food and drink, we bow
हे इन्द्र देव! जैसे पक्षी मधुर, आनंदमय और स्वादिष्ट भोजन से परिपूर्ण अपने घोंसले में विश्राम करते हैं, वैसे ही हम आपकी यज्ञीय महिमा में लीन होकर आपको नमन करते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 408
वयमु त्वामप्ञुर्व्य स्थ्ञुरम् न कच्चिद्- भरन्तोइ᳓वस्यवः. वज्रिँन् चित्रं हवामहे
O lord sublime, eternal, first and most excellent, we, bearing almost nothing substantial but praying for protection and advancement, invoke you in our battle of life for food, energy, knowledge and ultimate victory.
हे परम श्रेष्ठ, शाश्वत और सर्वोत्कृष्ट प्रभु, हम, जो जीवन के संग्राम में लगभग कुछ भी ठोस धारण नहीं करते, आपकी शरण में आकर अन्न, ऊर्जा, ज्ञान और परम विजय के लिए आपकी स्तुति करते हैं।

स्वादोरित्था विष्ञुवतो मधोः पिबन्ति गौर्यः. या इन्द्रेण सयावरीर्वृष्णा मदन्ति शोभथा वस्वीरनु स्वराज्यम्
Yå indreƒa sayåvar∂rv涃å madanti ‹obhathå vasv∂ranu svaråjyam. The golden and brilliant people and forces of the land drink of the delicious, exciting and universal honey sweets of national pride and prestige and joyously celebrate their achievements in the company of generous and valorous Indra for the advancement of the honour and glory of the republic in obedience to the demands and discipline of the freedom and self-government of the nation.
हे राष्ट्र के गौरवशाली और तेजस्वी जनगण! आप सब मिलकर राष्ट्र के गौरव, प्रतिष्ठा और आनंद के मधुर रस का पान करते हुए, पराक्रमी इंद्र के साथ मिलकर, स्वतंत्रता और स्वशासन की मर्यादाओं का पालन करते हुए, गणराज्य की शोभा और यश को बढ़ाते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 410
इत्था हि सोम इन्मदो ब्रह्म चकार वर्ध- नम्. ›अविष्ंह वज्रिन्नोजसा पृथिव्या निः शशा अहिमर्चन्ननु स्वराज्यम्
Giving to joyous freedom and self-government an exalted place of honour, Brahma, lord creator, in- vested the joy and excitement of life with animation, growth and independence. And for the same reason, Indra, strongest in courage and valour, wielder of the thunderbolt of freedom and self-government, with your might and main, strike off the serpent of evil, suffering and slavery from the earth for all time.
हे सोम, हे इन्द्र, हे वज्रधारी! ब्रह्म ने जीवन को आनंद, वृद्धि और स्वतंत्रता से युक्त किया है। अपनी शक्ति से, हे इन्द्र, पृथ्वी से सर्प (अज्ञान, दुःख, दासता) का नाश कर दो, जिससे सर्वत्र स्वराज्य की स्थापना हो।
Chapter 4 · Verse 411
इन्द्रो मदाय वावृधे शवसे वृत्रहा नृभिः. तमिन्महत्स्वाजिष्ञुतिमर्भे हवामहे स वाजेषु प्र नोइ᳓विषत्
Taminmahatsvåji¶μutimarbhe havåmahe sa våje¶u pra noívi¶at. Indra, the hero who destroys Vtra, the cloud of want and suffering, and releases the showers of plenty and prosperity, goes forward with the people for the achievement of strength and joy of the land of freedom and self-government. And him we invoke and exhort in the battles of life, great and small, so that he may defend and advance us in all our struggles for progress and lead us to victory.
हे इन्द्र देव, जो वृत्रहंता हैं और जो हमें ऐश्वर्य और सुख प्रदान करते हैं, हम आपको युद्धों में पुकारते हैं ताकि आप हमें बल और विजय प्रदान करें।

इन्द्र तुभ्यमिदद्रिवोइ᳓नुत्तम् वज्रिन् वीर्यम्. यद्ध त्यम् मायिनम् मृगम् तव त्यन्मा- ययावधीरर्चन्ननु स्वराज्यम्
To you, Indra, lord of the thunderbolt, mighty ruler of the republic, high as mountain and the cloud, cheers for incomparable excellence of valour since you, doing honour and reverence to the freedom and self- governance of the republic, destroyed that artful roaring demon of a cloud of darkness with your extraordinary power.
हे वज्रधारी इंद्र देव, आपकी अतुलनीय वीरता और पराक्रम को नमन है, जिन्होंने अंधकारमय मेघों के मायावी गर्जन को अपनी शक्ति से नष्ट कर दिया। आपकी महिमा महान है, जो गणतंत्र के स्वातंत्र्य और सुशासन का सम्मान करती है।
Chapter 4 · Verse 413
प्रेह्यभीहि धृष्णुहि न ते वज्रो नि यंसते. इन्द्र नृम्णं हि ते शवो हनो वृत्रं जया अपोइ᳓र्चन्ननु स्वराज्यम्
Indra næmƒa≈ hi te ‹avo hano vætra≈ jayå apoírcannanu svaråjyam. Indra, lord of power and brilliance, ruler of the land, go forward. Go forward all round. Shake the evil. Irresistible is your thunderbolt of light and power. Your power and force is the wealth of the nation. Destroy the demon of want and drought, release and win the waters, plenty and prosperity and, in homage and reverence advancing the freedom and self-government of humanity, move ahead and higher.
हे इन्द्र, अपनी शक्ति और तेज से आगे बढ़ो। तुम्हारा वज्र कभी निष्फल नहीं होता, यह शत्रु का नाश कर जल और समृद्धि को प्रकट करता है।
Chapter 4 · Verse 414
यदुदीरत आजयो धृष्णवे धीयते धनम्. युΔक्ष्वा मदच्युता हरी कं हनः कं वसौ दधोइ᳓स्माँम् इन्द्र वसौ दधः
YuΔk¶vå madacyutå har∂ ka≈ hana¨ ka≈ vasau dadhoísmå~m indra vasau dadha¨. When battles confront the nation, means and money are raised and prizes won for the brave. Commander of the forces, yoke the forces exuberant and raging for war. Destroy the enemy. Settle the victorious in wealth and peace. Indra, pray settle us in peace and comfort.
जब राष्ट्र युद्ध का सामना करे, तब वीर योद्धाओं के लिए धन और पुरस्कार प्राप्त हों। हे इंद्र, युद्ध के लिए उन्मत्त और उग्र सेनाओं को संगठित करें, शत्रुओं का नाश करें और विजयी को धन और शांति में स्थापित करें।

अक्षन्नमीमदन्त ह्यव प्रिया अध्ञुषत. अस्तोषत स्वभानवो विप्रा नविष्ंहया मती योजा न्विन्द्र ते हरी
Asto¶ata svabhånavo viprå navi¶¢hayå mat∂ yojå nvindra te har∂. Noble men acquiring holy knowledge, rejoicing, dearest favourite saints and sages brilliant with their innate genius and virtue, ward off the evil and pray to Indra with latest words of wisdom and homage. Indra, yoke your horses (on the wing and come to join the yajna).
हे इन्द्र देव! पवित्र ज्ञान प्राप्त कर, आनंदित हो रहे श्रेष्ठ संत और ज्ञानीजन, अपनी अंतर्निहित प्रतिभा और सद्गुणों से प्रकाशित होकर, बुराई को दूर करते हैं और नवीनतम ज्ञान तथा भक्ति के शब्दों से आपकी स्तुति करते हैं। हे इन्द्र, अपने अश्वों को जोतो और यज्ञ में सम्मिलित होने के लिए पधारो।

ªउपो षु शृणुही गिरो मघवन्मातथा इव. कदा नः स्ञुनृतावतः कर इदर्थयास इद्योजा न्विन्द्र ते हरी. चन्द्रमा अप्स्वाँनि᳓न्तरा सुपर्णो धावते दिवि. न वो हिरण्यनेमयः पदं विन्दन्ति विद्युतो वित्तं मे अस्य रोदसी
Kadå na¨ sμunætåvata¨ kara idarthayåsa idyojå nvindra te har∂. Indra, lord of wealth and glory, listen to our prayer at the closest, not like one distant or different. The moon glides in the middle regions of Antariksha in the midst of waters and pranic energies. So does the sun of wondrous rays run fast in the heaven of light. But the golden-rimmed flashes of lightning reveal themselves not to your state of consciousness. May the heaven and earth know the secret of this mystery and reveal it to men, the ruler and the people.

O creators and makers of the sweets of existence, the celebrant prays: Listen to my song of adoration and accept the invitation to live and create the joy of life.

Yaddha syå te pan∂yas∂ samid d∂dayati dyav∂¶a≈ stotæbhya å bhara. Let us kindle you, light and fire of life, generous divinity, refulgent and unaging so that the wonderfully admirable light of your blaze shines in heaven and you bring food and energy for the celebrants.

Like fire for comfort, with our own holy chant for the internal yajna of our spiritual purification and your joy, we fellow yajakas, choose you, Agni, high priest of cosmic yajna, all pervasive purifier by the white heat of his divine radiance. Verily the lord is great and glorious for you.

O dawn, lady of morning light brilliant with splendour, arouse us and enlighten us today for the achievement of grandeur, wealth and excellence of life as you have been the giver of enlightenment and generosity ever before, O majesty of renown, symbol of life's extension, nobly born, commander of the nation's power, achievement and love of noble truth. (Rg. 5-79-1) (Swami Dayananda interprets this mantra as an address to the lady of the house.)

O Soma, lord of peace and bliss, inspire our mind, skill and wisdom, and our yajnic actions to move in the direction of goodness and piety, so that, living in your love and friendship, we may enjoy food and life's delicacies like cows enjoying their favourite grass and you are great and glorious indeed.

Great by knowledge, awful by action, in his own right and by his own might, he maintains in power and majesty. Elevated and sublime, blazing brilliant, lord of horses and speed of motion, he wields the golden thunderbolt of power and force in both his hands for the beauty and dignity of life and the republic of humanity.
हे महान् ज्ञानवान्, अपने कर्मों से तेजस्वी प्रभु, अपनी शक्ति और सामर्थ्य से सब कुछ धारण करते हैं। वे तेजस्वी, दीप्तिमान्, अश्वों के स्वामी हैं और अपने हाथों में वज्र धारण कर जीवन की शोभा और मानव जाति के कल्याण की रक्षा करते हैं।

स घा तं वृषणं रथम् अधि तिष्ंहाति गोविदम्. यः पात्रं हारियोजनं प्ञुर्णम् इन्द्रा चिकेतति योजा न्विन्द्र ते हरी
Indra, only that person who knows the science and technology of that horse-powered chariot which is perfect and fully capable of defence and safety against the enemy, would ride that prize-winning chariot of victory which would lead him to the conquest of territory and prosperity. Indra, yoke your horses (and come to join the yajna of defence and protection).

अग्निम् तं मन्ये यो वसुरस्तं यं यन्ति धेनवः. अस्तम् अर्वन्त आशवोइ᳓स्तं नित्यासो वाजिनं इषं स्तोतृभ्य आ भर
Agni is that power and presence of energy, I believe, which pervades everything and in which and by which all things abide and function. The cows abide in it, move by it and end up into it. Horses abide in it, move by it and end into it. So do all fast moving streams and objects, permanent forms, and all forms of energy move by it and retire into it. O scholar of Agni, universal energy, produce and bring up food and energy for the celebrants and supplicants for Agni. This energy is originally set in motion by Agni, the Cosmic omnipotent Spirit. (In the mantra agni is described as astam, i.e., set into motion.)

Sajo¶aso yam aryamå mitro nayati varuƒo ati dvi¶a¨. O devas, divinities of nature, noble scholars and sages, neither sin nor suffering, nor anything vicious can touch the mortal whom Aryama, spirit of enlightened guidance, Mitra, spirit of love and friendship, and Varuna, spirit of judgement and justice, all together with love and care without relent, lead across hate, jealousy and enmity.

O Soma, as victor of life and divine glory, flow, radiate and inspire us like energy itself controlled and consecrated for great creative and productive holy work, expert technique and the production and achievement of wealth.

अनु हि त्वा सुतं सोम मदामसि महे समर्यराज्ये. वाजाँन् अभि पवमान प्र गाहसे
While you are with us at heart, O Soma, spirit of constant peaceful life, we rejoice with you in the great common-wealth order of governance where, dynamic, pure and purifying, you ever advance to victories in honour, excellence and glory.
हे सोम, हे नित्य शांतिपूर्ण जीवन के आत्मा, जब आप हमारे हृदय में होते हैं, तब हम महान, सामान्य, समृद्ध शासन व्यवस्था में आपके साथ आनंदित होते हैं, जहाँ आप गतिशील, शुद्ध और पवित्र होकर, सम्मान, उत्कृष्टता और महिमा की विजयों की ओर निरंतर बढ़ते हैं।

क ईं व्यक्ता नरः सनीडा रुद्रस्य मर्या अथा स्वश्वाः
What for sure are these individual, specified, kindred, mortal and human life forces of Rudra, cosmic vitality, the soul, the commander, the destroyer of suffering, forces which, for advancemant, ride noble steeds like currents of wind?
हे रुद्र! ये कौन से विशिष्ट, सगे-संबंधी, नश्वर और मानव रूपी जीवन-शक्तियाँ हैं, जो पवन की धाराओं के समान उत्कृष्ट अश्वों पर आरूढ़ होकर उन्नति की ओर अग्रसर होती हैं? ये ही वे दिव्य चेतनाएँ हैं जो ब्रह्मांडीय प्राणशक्ति, आत्मा और दुखों के विनाशक के रूप में प्रकट होती हैं।

अग्ने तम् अद्याश्वं न स्तोमैः क्रतुम् न भद्रं हृदिस्पृशम्. ःर्ध्यामा त ओहैः
Agni, mighty power of light and motion, with songs of praise and prayer and with holy acts of service offered in homage to you today, we augment, celebrate and glorify you, fast as nature's waves of energy, bright as intelligence and blissful as yajna, and dear as love closest to the heart.
हे अग्नि देव, हम आज स्तुति गानों और पवित्र कर्मों द्वारा आपकी शक्ति को बढ़ाते हैं, जो प्रकृति की ऊर्जा तरंगों के समान तीव्र, बुद्धि के समान उज्ज्वल और यज्ञ के समान आनंदमय हैं।

Indra, lord of protection, giver of joy invoked knowledge and pious action for the attainment of your presence and glory, and Tvashta, maker and destroyer of suffering, makes and provides the blazing thunderbolt to dispel the darkness of evil and suffering.

Cows are always pure and sinless, they give. The generous are always pure, free from sin, they feed, support and sustain the world.

Indra, omnipotent lord, living close to you in the honey sweet abode of your realm, may we augment our wealth and excellence and meditate on your divine presence.

अर्चन्त्यर्कं मरुतः स्वर्का आ स्तोभति श्रुतो युवा स इन्द्रः
Maruts, heroic devotees, chant devotional hymns who, youthful and renowned, sustains the world and responds to their devotion with joyous favour and spiritual elevation.
हे इंद्र! सूर्य और मरुद्गण आपकी स्तुति करते हैं, वे युवा, तेजस्वी और प्रसिद्ध हैं, जो संसार का भरण-पोषण करते हैं और भक्ति से प्रसन्न होकर आध्यात्मिक उन्नति प्रदान करते हैं।

To Indra, omniscient lord almighty, highest destroyer of evil, sin and darkness, sing and offer your songs of adoration which he loves, enjoys and happily accepts.
हे सर्वज्ञ, सर्वशक्तिमान, दुष्टों का नाश करने वाले इंद्र देव के लिए, जो स्तुति से प्रसन्न होते हैं, अपने भक्तिपूर्ण गीत गाओ।

Like greatest of the great and munificent, wondrous Agni, Supreme light of life, holds the treasure jewels of existence which he liberally grants to the dedicated souls.

उषा अप स्वसुष्ंअमः सं वर्तयति वर्तनिं सुजातता
The dawn continuously removes the darkness of its sister night, by circular motion of its rise every morning through the succession of day and night.

Let us proceed, study and win our goals, successfully and peacefully, across these regions of the world, study and harness electric energy, and let all divine forces of nature and nobilities of humanity be favourable to us.

Like streams of water flowing by their natural course, O lord munificent, Indra, let your gifts of wealth, honour and excellence flow free for humanity.

Thus do we offer ardent praise and seek to share divine favour and inspiration fit for dedicated humanity and pray we may live happy a full hundred years blest with noble and heroic generations of progeny.

Chapter 4 · Verse 457
त्रिकद्रुकेषु महिषो यवाशिरं तुविशुष्मस्- तृम्पत् सोमम् अपिबद् विष्णुना सुतं यथा- वशम्. स ईं ममाद महि कर्म कर्तवे महाम् उरुं सैनं सश्चद् देवो देवं सत्य इन्दुः सत्यम् इन्द्रम्
The great and powerful sun drinks up the soma, essence of vital juices reinforced with herbal elixir, matured in three containers, i.e., the earth, the sky and the heaven of light, and distilled by light and wind while it shines and energises the essences. He who delights in energising this sun, greatest of the great in nature, to do great things, who blesses and continues to bless this blazing power of light is the eternal, ever true, self-refulgent Lord Supreme, blissful as the moon. And he who would love to do great things vast and worthy of the great, he, true and bright as the moon, should serve and meditate on this lord of unbounded light and energy.

अयं सहस्रमानवो दृशः कवीनां मतिर् ज्योतिर् विधर्म. ब्रध्नः समीचीर् उषसः. समैर्यद् अरेपसः. सचेतसः. स्वसरे मन्युमन्तश् चिता गोः
This mighty sun, benefactor of vast humanity, glorious, inspiration of poets, light of the world, law bound, radiates the flood of light in unison with dawn, and on the rise of the day, pure, immaculate, enlighted, perceptive people, cows and planets rise to the fresh light of a new day.
हे सूर्य देव, आप कवियों की प्रेरणा, जगत् के प्रकाश और महान् शक्ति के स्रोत हैं, जो उषा काल के साथ मिलकर प्रकाश की धारा प्रवाहित करते हैं, जिससे शुद्ध, निर्मल और ज्ञानवान् मनुष्य, गौएँ और ग्रह भी नवीन प्रभात के प्रकाश में उदय होते हैं।

एन्द्र याह्युप नः परावतो नायमच्छा विदथानीव सत्पतिर् अस्ता राजेव सत्पतिः. हवामहे त्वा प्रयस्वन्तः सुतेष्वा पुत्रासो न पितरं वाजसातये मँम्हिष्ंहं वाजसातये
Havåmahe två prayasvanta¨ sute¶vå putråso na pitara≈ våjasåtaye ma~mhi¶¢ha≈ våjasåtaye. Indra, lord of wealth and power, ruler of the world, come graciously from afar to us like this Agni who comes to the yajnic battles of life. Protector and promoter of truth and rectitude, friend and protector of the truthful and righteous, come to our home like the ruler. Joining you faithfully in this yajna of life, dedicated to holy action and endeavour, we invoke and invite you to join us. As children call upon the father to help them to food, sustenance and protection in their course of life and growth, so do we call upon you for safety and protection, great lord of power and prosperity, for victory in our battle of life.
हे इन्द्र देव! हे सत्य के स्वामी! जैसे अग्नि देव यज्ञ में आते हैं, वैसे ही दूर से हमारे पास पधारें। हम सत्यनिष्ठ होकर, पुत्र जैसे पिता को पुकारते हैं, वैसे ही आपको बुलाते हैं।

तम् इन्द्रं जोहवीमि मघवानम् उग्रं सत्रा दधानम् अप्रतिष्कुतं श्रवाΔसि भ्ञुरि. मँम्हिष्ंहो गीर्भिरा च यज्¤इयो ववर्त राये नो विश्वा सुपथा कृणोतु वज्री
Ma~mhi¶¢ho g∂rbhirå ca yaj¤iyo vavarta råye no vi‹vå supathå kæƒotu vajr∂. That Indra, ruler of the world, I invoke and address, illustrious, pious and true, wielder of unopposed powers, and I pray may the most generous and adorable lord of thunderous power, in response to our voice, turn to us constantly and clear our paths of advancement for the achievement of wealth, power, honour and excellence of the world.
हे इन्द्र, हे धनवान, हे उग्र, मैं आपको पुकारता हूँ, जो महान शक्ति धारण करते हैं और जिनकी प्रशंसा चारों ओर गूंजती है। हे श्रेष्ठ, हे यज्ञ के योग्य, आप हमारी प्रार्थना सुनें और हमें धन, शक्ति और उन्नति के मार्ग पर अग्रसर करें।

अस्तु श्रौषं पुरो अग्निं धिया दध आ नु त्यच्छर्द्धो दिव्यं वृणीमहे इन्द्रवाय्ञु वृणीमहे. यद्ध क्राणा विवस्वते नाभा सन्दाय नव्यसे. अध प्र न्ञुनम् उप यन्ति धीतयो देवाँन् अच्छ न धीतयः
May my voice be heard! I have realised the energy and power of Agni, light and fire, in full with my intellect and understanding. Then we opt for the divine force and power of nature and move on to the study and application of the power of wind and electricity which, active at the centre of the sun, give us the newest and latest form of energy and power. May all our intellectual efforts and intelligential vision reach the forces of nature and analyse and discover their energy and powers. Let us reach there well with all our intellect and imagination and let our efforts benefit the noblest humanity.
हे अग्निदेव! मेरी बुद्धि में आपका तेज और प्रकाश पूर्ण रूप से स्थापित हो। हम इंद्र और वायु की दिव्य शक्ति को प्राप्त करें, जो सूर्य के केंद्र में रहकर नवीन ऊर्जा प्रदान करते हैं। हमारी बुद्धि और ज्ञान की सभी धाराएँ प्रकृति की शक्तियों तक पहुँचें और उनके रहस्यों को जानें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 462
प्र वो महे मतयो यन्तु विष्णवे मरुत्वते गिरिजा एवया मरुत्. प्र शर्धाय प्र यज्यवे सुखादये तवसे भन्ददिष्ंअये धुनिव्रताय शवसे
O vibrant man of vision, all ye men and women, let all your songs and flights of thought and vision born of the voice of the heart reach Vishnu, all pervasive lord, commander of the winds and warriors, indomitable, highly majestic, adorable and cooperative, blissfully appreciative, relentlessly active and absolute in justice and power.
हे सर्वव्यापी, वायु और योद्धाओं के स्वामी, हे परम तेजस्वी, पूजनीय और सहयोगी, हे आनंदमय, अविचल शक्ति और न्याय के प्रतीक, आपकी स्तुति में हमारे हृदय से निकले गीत और विचार पहुँचें।

अया रुचा हरिण्या पुनानो विश्वा द्वेषाΔसि तरति सयुग्वभिः स्ञुरो न सयुग्वभिः. धारा पृष्ंहस्य रोचते पुनानो अरुषो हरिः. विश्वा यद्र्ञुपा परियास्यृक्वभिः सप्तास्येभिर् ऋक्वभिः
This Soma spirit of the fighting force of divinity, protecting and purifying by its own victorious lustre of innate powers, overcomes all forces of jealousy and enmity as the sun dispels all darkness with its own rays of light. The stream of its radiance, realised and purifying, shines beautiful and blissful. The lustrous saviour spirit which pervades all existent forms of the world, goes forward pure and purifying with seven notes of its exalting voice and seven rays of light and seven pranic energies expressive of its mighty force.
यह सोम-तत्त्व, अपनी विजय-दीप्ति से सब द्वेषों को दूर करता हुआ, सूर्य के समान अंधकार को दूर करता है। इसकी निर्मल धारा, जो सब रूपों में व्याप्त है, सात नादों और सात किरणों से युक्त होकर, कल्याणकारी रूप से प्रकाशित होती है।

अभि त्यं देवं सवितारम् ओण्योः कविक्रतुम् अर्चामि सत्यसवं रत्नधाम् अभि प्रियं मतिम्. ªउर्ध्वा यस्यामतिर् भा अदिद्युतत् सवीमनि हिरण्यपाणिर् अमिमीत सुक्रतुः कृपा स्वः
I adore this self-refulgent Savita, life and light of existence, creator of heaven and earth, poetic high priest of creation yajna, generator and upholder of truth and law, treasure-hold of life's jewels, universally loved and all-intelligent. Up on his manifest will, inert Prakrti rises and shines into the state of creation. This Savita of golden hands of glory, this holy actor, by his gracious will creates the lights of heaven and bliss.
हे सत्य-संकल्प, रत्नों के दाता, सर्वव्यापी, कवि-कर्म वाले देव सविता की मैं स्तुति करता हूँ। उनकी महान इच्छा से जड़ प्रकृति भी प्रकाशित होकर सृजन की अवस्था को प्राप्त होती है, वे ही स्वर्णिम हाथों वाले, शुभ कर्म करने वाले देव अपनी कृपा से प्रकाश और आनंद उत्पन्न करते हैं।

अग्निं होतारं मन्ये दास्वन्तं वसोः स्ञुनुं सहसो जातवेदसं विप्रं न जातवेदसम्. य ञुर्द्ध्वया स्वध्वरो देवो देवाच्या कृपा. घृतस्य विभ्राष्ंइम् अनु शुक्रशोचिष आजुह्वा- नस्य सर्पिषः
Ya μurddhvayå svadhvaro devo devåcyå kæpå. Ghætasya vibhr嶢im anu ‹ukra‹oci¶a åjuhvå- nasya sarpi¶a¨. light and knowledge, spirit of life and heat and inspiration of noble action, yajaka, generous giver, treasure of wealth and universal shelter, inspirer and creator of courage and courageous action like the sun, omniscient lord of all that is born in existence, master of knowledge as the supreme scholar of the Veda, organiser of yajna with love and non-violence with divine knowledge and awareness, refulgent with heavenly light and power, loving and consuming with flames of fire, and, light the blaze of the purest and most powerful ghrta offered into the fire of yajna, physical, mental and spiritual all.'
हे अग्निदेव, आप यज्ञ के पुरोहित, धन के दाता, बल के पुत्र और सर्वज्ञ हैं। आप ही ज्ञान के स्वामी, प्रकाश और प्रेरणा के स्रोत हैं, जो यज्ञ को प्रेम और दिव्य ज्ञान से संचालित करते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 466
तव त्यन्नर्यं नृतोइ᳓प इन्द्र प्रथमम् प्ञुर्व्यं दिवि प्रवाच्यं कृतम्. यो देवस्य शवसा प्रारिणा असु रिणन्नपः. भुवो विश्व- मभ्यदेवम् ओजसा विदेद् ञुर्जं शतक्रतुर् विदेदिषम्
Indra, lord of light, life and generosity, director of the cosmic dance of creation, that original, ancient act of yours admirable in the light and language of heaven performed for the sake of humanity which, by the omnipotence of Divinity, moves the pranic energies and causes the waters of life to flow may, we pray, with the power and splendour of Divinity, inspire the entire world of matter and energy, conquer impiety and bring us, O lord of a hundred yajnic gifts and actions, food and energy for body, mind and soul. (Rg. 2-22-4)
हे इन्द्र देव, आपकी वह प्राचीन, दिव्य और प्रशंसनीय शक्ति, जो समस्त सृष्टि को प्राण ऊर्जा से संचालित करती है और जीवनदायिनी जलधाराओं को प्रवाहित करती है, वह हमें भी अपनी शक्ति और तेज से प्रेरित करे, ताकि हम अज्ञान पर विजय प्राप्त कर सकें और शरीर, मन तथा आत्मा के लिए अन्न और ऊर्जा प्राप्त कर सकें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 467
उच्चा ते जातमन्धसो दिवि सद्भ्ञुम्या ददे. उग्रम् शर्म महि श्रवः
Ugram ‹arma mahi ‹rava¨. O Soma, high is your renown, great your peace and pleasure, born and abiding in heaven, and the gift of your energy and vitality, the earth receives as the seed and food of life.
हे सोम! स्वर्ग में उत्पन्न और स्थित आपकी महिमा अत्यंत ऊँची है, और आपकी शक्ति तथा जीवनदायिनी ऊर्जा को पृथ्वी जीवन के बीज और पोषण के रूप में ग्रहण करती है।
Chapter 4 · Verse 468
स्वादिष्ंहया मदिष्ंहया पवस्व सोम धारया. इन्द्राय पातवे सुतः
Soma Madhucchanda Svådi¶¢hayå madi¶¢hayå pavasva soma dhårayå. Indråya påtave suta¨. O Soma, Spirit of Divinity, peace and glory of existence distilled in the essence for the soul's being, flow in the sweetest and most exhilarating streams of ecstasy, cleanse and sanctify us unto purity and constancy, and initiate us into the state of ananda, divine glory. (Rg. 9-1-1) (Soma in the physical sense is an exhilarating drink, in the aesthetic sense it is ecstasy, in the psychic sense it is ananda, and in the spiritual sense it is elevation of the soul to the experience of divinity. It is the peace, purity and glory of life, any power physical, social or divine that leads to satyam (truth), shivam (goodness), and sundaram (beauty) of life, anything, power and person that gives us an experience of sacchidananda, the real, the intelligent and the blissful state of the life divine. In short, Soma is satyam, shivam and sundaram, the sat, the chit and the ananda of life. It is not restricted of soma is open-ended on the positive side of life and living joy.)
हे सोम, तुम अस्तित्व के परम आनंद और शांति हो, आत्मा के लिए मधुरतम धाराओं में प्रवाहित हो, हमें पवित्रता और स्थिरता प्रदान करो, और दिव्य आनंद की अवस्था में ले चलो।
Chapter 4 · Verse 830
एत असृग्रम् इन्दवस्तिरः पवित्रमाशवः. विश्वान्यभि सौभगा
Vi‹vånyabhi saubhagå. These vibrant forces of humanity dedicated to peace and joy for all, above pettiness and negativities, move on with noble work for humanity toward the achievement of all wealth, honour and excellence.
हे इन्द्रदेव! ये सोम की धाराएँ पवित्रता को प्राप्त करती हैं, जो सभी प्रकार के सौभाग्य और उत्कृष्टता की ओर ले जाती हैं। ये धाराएँ समस्त मानव जाति के लिए शांति और आनंद का प्रसार करती हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 831
विघ्नन्तो दुरिता पुरु सुगा तोकाय वाजिनः. त्मना कृण्वन्तो अर्वतः
Tmanå kæƒvanto arvata¨. Overcoming and eliminating the many evils and undesirables of life, creating peace and comfort, wealth and honour for vibrant humanity and their progress through future generations, they go on as warriors and pioneers of the human nation.
हे सामवेद के ऋषियों, आप अनेक विघ्नों और दुःखों को दूर करते हुए, भविष्य की पीढ़ियों के लिए सुख, समृद्धि और यश प्रदान करते हैं, और इस प्रकार राष्ट्र के वीर योद्धाओं के समान आगे बढ़ते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 832
कृण्वन्तो वरिवो गवेइ᳓भ्यर्षन्ति षुष्ंउतिम्. इडाम् अस्मभ्यं संयतम्
IŒåm asmabhya≈ sa≈yatam. Creating, collecting and preserving noble wealth and strength and sustenance for us and for our lands and cows and the honour and culture of our tradition, they go on winning appreciation and admiration.
हे भगवन, आप हमारे लिए धन, बल और पोषण का सृजन करते हैं, उन्हें बढ़ाते हैं और सुरक्षित रखते हैं, जिससे हमारी भूमि, गौएं और हमारी परंपरा का सम्मान बना रहता है, और इस प्रकार आप सदा प्रशंसा के पात्र बने रहते हैं।

राजा मेधाभिरीयते पवमानो मनावधि. अन्तरिक्षेण यातवे
Antarik¶eƒa yåtave. Refulgent Soma, divine spirit of power and peace, pure, purifying and vibrant, is attained through intelligential communion in meditation for reaching the higher stages of existence into the middle sphere between the earth and the highest regions of bliss.
हे सोम देव, बुद्धि के द्वारा ध्यान में प्राप्त होकर, आप मध्यलोक में गमन करते हैं, जो पृथ्वी और परम आनंद के लोकों के बीच स्थित है। आप तेज, पवित्र और ऊर्जावान हैं, जो शक्ति और शांति का दिव्य स्वरूप हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 834
Å नः सोम सहो जुवो र्ञुपं न वर्चसे भर. सुष्वाणो देववीतये
Soma, lord of vital creativity and lustrous vigour, and fluent power and progressive energy, bring us the courage of constancy, forbearance, vibrant vigour and enthusiasm, and an impressive personality for the sake of illuminative lustre of life so that we may follow the path of divinity while living here and after.
हे सोम देव, जो जीवन की चेतना और तेज के स्वामी हैं, हमें स्थिरता, सहनशीलता, उत्साह और प्रभावशाली व्यक्तित्व प्रदान करें, जिससे हम इस लोक और परलोक में दिव्यता के मार्ग पर चल सकें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 835
Å न इन्दो शतग्विनं गवां पोषं स्वश्व्यम्. वहा भगत्तिम्ञुतये
Indu, lord of joy, beauty and prosperity, bring us a hundredfold wealth and pleasure of divine service and dedication, rising prosperity of cows and horses, enlightenment and advancement, progress and achievement, all for peace and security.
हे आनंद, सौंदर्य और समृद्धि के स्वामी इंदु, हमें दिव्य सेवा और समर्पण से सौ गुना धन और सुख प्रदान करें, जिससे गायों और घोड़ों की बढ़ती समृद्धि, ज्ञान और उन्नति, प्रगति और सिद्धि प्राप्त हो, यह सब शांति और सुरक्षा के लिए हो।
Chapter 4 · Verse 836
तम् त्वा नृम्णानि बिभ्रतम् सधस्थेषु महो दिवः. चारुम् सुकृत्ययेमहे
O Soma, Spirit of peace, purity and power, with holy acts of homage in the halls of yajna, we invoke, exalt you in action, harbinger of the jewels of wealth, honour and excellence from the lofty regions of the light of heaven.
हे सोम, शांति, पवित्रता और शक्ति के आत्मा, यज्ञशालाओं में पवित्र कर्मों द्वारा हम आपकी स्तुति करते हैं, हे प्रकाश के ऊँचे लोकों से धन, सम्मान और उत्कृष्टता के रत्नों के अग्रदूत।
Chapter 4 · Verse 838
अतस्त्वा रयिरभ्ययद्राजानं सुक्रतो दिवः. सुपर्णो अव्यथी भरत्
Suparƒo avyath∂ bharat. For this reason of your glory and inspiring nature, O lord of holy action and self-refulgent ruler, controller and dispenser of wealth, honour and excellence, the veteran sage and scholar can invoke you from the heights of heaven without fear and difficulty.
हे सुकर्मों के स्वामी, तेजस्वी राजा, आपकी महिमा और प्रेरणादायक स्वरूप के कारण ही ज्ञानी जन स्वर्ग से भी निर्भय होकर आपको प्राप्त कर सकते हैं। आप धन, सम्मान और उत्कृष्टता के प्रदाता हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 839
अधा हिन्वान इन्द्रियं ज्यायो महित्वमानशे. अभिष्ंइकृद् विचर्षणिः
Abhi¶¢ikæd vicar¶aƒi¨. And so, the inspirer of the power of senses, mind and intelligence, giver of fulfilment to the devotees, all watching Soma, divine Spirit of peace, power and enlightenment, pervades and abides in and over existence as the supreme power of divine glory.
हे सोम देव! आप इन्द्रियों, मन और बुद्धि को प्रेरित करने वाले, भक्तों को पूर्णता प्रदान करने वाले, सर्वव्यापी और परम ऐश्वर्यशाली हैं। आप ही शांति, शक्ति और ज्ञान के दिव्य स्वरूप हैं जो संपूर्ण अस्तित्व में व्याप्त हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 840
विश्वस्मा इत्स्वर्दृशे साधारणं रजस्तुरम्. गोपामृतस्य विर्भरत्
Gopåmætasya virbharat. The sage and scholar of lofty vision and imagination, in order that all visionaries of the world may perceive your heavenly majesty, communicates his experience of your presence who are present everywhere, who give motion to the energy of nature in the cosmic dynamics and who rule and protect the laws of eternal truth which govern the course of existence.
हे सर्वव्यापी प्रभु, आप ही समस्त विश्व के शासक हैं, जो प्रकृति की ऊर्जा को गतिमान करते हैं और शाश्वत सत्य के नियमों का पालन करते हैं, ताकि सभी दृष्टा आपकी दिव्य महिमा को अनुभव कर सकें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 841
इषे पवस्व धारया मृज्यमानो मनीषिभिः. इन्दो रुचाभि गा इहि
Indo rucåbhi gå ihi. Shower in streams of purity and power and bless us with food, energy and fulfilment, adored and exalted as you are by sages, scholars and thoughtful devotees. O lord of bliss and beauty, come and, with the light and joy of your presence, sanctify our senses and mind, vision and intelligence.
हे इन्द्र देव, हे आनंद और सौंदर्य के स्वामी, आप पवित्रता और शक्ति की धाराओं से बरसें, ऋषियों और विद्वानों द्वारा पूजित होकर हमें अन्न, ऊर्जा और तृप्ति प्रदान करें। अपनी ज्योति और आनंद से हमारे इंद्रियों, मन, दृष्टि और बुद्धि को पवित्र करें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 842
पुनानो वरिवस्कृध्य्ञुर्जं जनाय गिर्वणः. हरे सृजान आशिरम्
Hare sæjåna å‹iram. Pure and purifying, adorable, adored and exalted, saviour from sin and evil, want and suffering, create the best of wealth, energy and ecstasy for humanity, giving all round joy and well being for body, mind and soul.
हे स्तुति योग्य, हे रक्षक! आप शुद्ध करने वाले, ऐश्वर्य प्रदान करने वाले, ऊर्जा और आनंद देने वाले हैं। आप समस्त मानव जाति के लिए कल्याण और सुख का सृजन करें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 843
पुनानो देववीतय इन्द्रस्य याहि निष्कृतम्. द्युतानो वाजिभिर्हितः
Dyutåno våjibhirhita¨. Purified, bright and clear Soma, songs of adoration for service of divinity, go upto the presence of Indra, lord omnipotent. Shining powerful, sent up, inspired by enthusiastic celebrants, rise up to divinity.
हे सोम देव, पवित्र और दीप्तिमान होकर, इन्द्र के परम धाम में प्रवेश करो, जो सर्वशक्तिमान हैं। स्तुति गानों से प्रेरित होकर, तुम दिव्य लोकों में ऊँचे उठो।
Chapter 4 · Verse 844
अग्निनाग्नीः समिध्यते कविर्गृहपतिर्युवा. हव्यवाड् जुह्वास्यः
HavyavåŒ juhvåsya¨. Agni is lighted, generated and raised by agni, universal energy. It is the creator of new things, protector and promoter of the home, and ever young-powerful catalytic agent carrying holy materials to the sky and to the heavens across space, and a voracious consumer (and creator) with its mouth ever open to devour (and convert) holy offerings (to divine gifts of joy and prosperity).
हे अग्निदेव! आप स्वयं ही प्रज्वलित होते हैं, ज्ञानस्वरूप गृहपति के रूप में आप नवीनता के सृजनकर्ता, रक्षक और प्रवर्तक हैं, जो पवित्र आहुतियों को देवलोक तक ले जाते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 845
यस्त्वामग्ने हविष्पतिर् द्ञुतं देव सपर्यति. तस्य स्म प्राविता भव
Tasya sma pråvitå bhava. Lord omniscient and resplendent, protector and harbinger of the holy gifts and blessings of life, whosoever be the yajnapati of service with holy offering unto you, save, protect and promote.
हे अग्निदेव, जो यज्ञपति पवित्र हविष्य द्वारा आपकी सेवा करता है, आप उसके रक्षक और सहायक बनें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 846
यो अग्निं देववीतये हविष्माँन् आविवासति. तस्मै पावक मृदय

मित्रं हुवे प्ञुतदक्षं वरुणं च रिशा- दसम्. धियम् घृतचीं साधन्ता
I invoke, with dedication, Mitra the sun, pure, generous and sanctifying, and Varuna, pranic energy of of cosmic intelligence and natural powers of human evolution (in science and art).
हे मित्र, तुम शुद्ध और उदार हो, और हे वरुण, तुम ब्रह्मांडीय चेतना और मानव विकास की प्राकृतिक शक्तियों के प्राण हो, मैं तुम्हें भक्तिपूर्वक आह्वान करता हूँ, जो ज्ञान और बुद्धि को बढ़ाते हैं।

Kratu≈ bæhantamå‹åthe. By virtue of the divine law, Mitra and Varuna, sun and pranic energy, both extend the operation of the natural law of cosmic evolution and inspire the human intelligence to reach unto divine realisation. They both pervade and energize the mighty yajna of the expanding universe.
हे मित्र और वरुण देव, आपकी शक्ति से ब्रह्मांडीय व्यवस्था का विस्तार होता है और मानव बुद्धि दिव्य ज्ञान की ओर प्रेरित होती है। आप दोनों ही इस विशाल ब्रह्मांडीय यज्ञ को व्याप्त और ऊर्जावान करते हैं।

कवी नो मित्रावरुणा तुविजाता उरुक्षया. दक्षं दधाते अपसम्
Kav∂ no mitråvaruƒå tuvijåtå uruk¶ayå. Dak¶a≈ dadhåte apasam. Creative, illuminative and inspiring, Mitra and Varuna, sun and pranic energy, like the breath of life, are universally pervasive and mighty potent, and both wield the divine power of versatile action.
हे मित्र और वरुण देव, आप दोनों ही सर्वव्यापी, शक्तिशाली और नाना प्रकार की क्रियाओं में समर्थ हैं, जो हमें बल और कर्म करने की शक्ति प्रदान करते हैं।

इन्द्रेण सं हि दृक्षसे संजग्मानो अबिभ्- युषा. मन्द्ञु समानवर्चसा
Marut, wind energy, is seen while moving alongwith the indomitable sun, both beautiful and joyous, divinities coexistent, equal in splendour by virtue of omnipresent Indra, Lord Supreme.
हे इन्द्र और मरुद्गण देवतागण! आप दोनों एक साथ मिलकर, अजेय सूर्य के साथ प्रकट होते हैं, जो समान तेज और आनंद से युक्त हैं। सर्वव्यापी इन्द्र के कारण ही आप दोनों की शक्ति और शोभा एक समान है।
Chapter 4 · Verse 851
Åदह स्वधामनु पुनर् गर्भत्वम् एरिरे. दधाना नाम यज्¤इयम्
Dadhånå nåma Yaj¤iyam. Bearing the sacred vapours of yajna as is their wont and nature, the winds rise to the sky, hold the clouds in their womb, and after the rain carry on the cycle with the sun-rays and yajna-fire.
यज्ञ की पवित्र गंध को धारण करते हुए, अपनी स्वाभाविक प्रवृत्ति के अनुसार, वायुमंडल सूर्य की किरणों और यज्ञ की अग्नि के साथ मिलकर, बादलों को धारण कर, पुन: गर्भधारण कर, सृष्टि के चक्र को आगे बढ़ाते हैं।

Avinda usriyå anu. The mighty sun with its piercing rays breaks down things in the sky, and the wind with its currents after the sunbeams reconstructs and replaces new forms of things in the sky.
हे इन्द्र! सूर्य की किरणों से अंधकार नष्ट होता है और वायु अपने प्रवाह से नवीन रूपों का निर्माण करती है।
Chapter 4 · Verse 853
ता हुवे ययोरिदम् पप्ने विश्वं पुरा कृतम्. इन्द्राग्नी न मर्धतः
I invoke, admire and celebrate Indra, cosmic energy, and Agni, cosmic heat and light, both manifestations of divine vision, will and action, by whose power and operation this whole universe has evolved as of eternity. The two do not hurt, injure or destroy us.
हे इन्द्र और अग्नि, आप दोनों दिव्य चेतना के रूप हैं, जिनकी शक्ति से यह ब्रह्मांड सदा से विकसित हुआ है। आप दोनों हमें हानि या विनाश नहीं पहुँचाते।

उग्रा विघनिना मृध इन्द्राग्नी हवामहे. ता नो मृडात ईदृशे
Tå no mæŒåta ∂dæ‹e. We invoke, invite and develop Indra and Agni, divine and blazing powers of nature's energy and light, both destroyers of adversaries and life's negativities. May they protect us and bless us with peace and prosperity in this world of our action and existence.
हे इन्द्र और अग्नि देव! हम आपकी स्तुति करते हैं, जो विघ्नों को दूर करने वाले और ज्ञान के दाता हैं। आप दोनों ही प्रकृति की ऊर्जा और प्रकाश के दिव्य और तेजस्वी स्वरूप हैं, जो शत्रुओं और जीवन की नकारात्मकताओं का नाश करते हैं।

Hatho Vi‹vå apa dvi¶a¨. Indra and Agni, divine powers of omnipotent will and vision, of holy nature, character and action, defenders of Truth and Law, destroy evil, darkness and want, destroy pain, suffering and slavery, destroy and eliminate all hate and enmity.
हे इन्द्र और अग्नि, सत्य और धर्म के रक्षक, आप समस्त द्वेष और शत्रुता का नाश करें, और सभी प्रकार के दुखों और अंधकार को दूर करें।

अभि सोमास आयवः पवन्ते मद्यं मदम्. समुद्रस्याधि विष्ंअपे मनीषिणो मत्सरासो मदच्युतः
Samudrasyådhi vi¶¢ape man∂¶iƒo matsaråso madacyuta¨. Intelligent and dedicated lovers of Soma refine and sublimate their pleasurable joy of the heart and emotion, direct it to divinity on top of the existential ocean of daily business and, thoughtful, ecstatic and divinely oriented, experience the heavenly ecstasy of Soma as in samadhi.
हे सोम! तुम बुद्धिमानों और समर्पित प्रेमियों द्वारा परिष्कृत होकर, हृदय और भावनाओं के आनंद को बढ़ाते हो, और इस प्रकार तुम अस्तित्व के सागर के ऊपर स्थित दिव्यता की ओर उन्मुख होकर, समाधि जैसी दिव्य परमानंद की अनुभूति कराते हो।

तरत्समुद्रं पवमान ञुर्मिणा राजा देव ऋतं बृहत्. अर्षा मित्रस्य वरुणस्य धर्मणा प्र हिन्वान ऋतं बृहत्
pra hinvåna æta≈ bæhat. Across the ocean of existence, pure, purifying and flowing by waves of ecstasy, refulgent generous divine ruler of life, itself the law of expansive universe, radiating by and with the Dharma of Mitra, spirit of love, and Varuna, spirit of justice, inspiring and stimulating the universal law of truth and advancement, rolls Soma.
हे देव! हे सोम! आप भवसागर को पार कराने वाले, पवित्रता प्रदान करने वाले, आनंद की लहरों से प्रवाहित होने वाले, तेजस्वी और उदार शासक हैं, जो सत्य और प्रगति के सार्वभौमिक नियम को प्रेरित करते हैं।

नृभिर्येमाणो हर्यतो विचक्षणो राजा देवः समुद्र्यः
Invoked and impelled by leading lights of intelligent humanity, graciously charming, all watching, self-refulgent divine light of life, omnipresent in the universe, it rolls for Indra, the soul.
हे सर्वव्यापी, आत्म-प्रकाशमान, चेतना के दिव्य स्रोत, जो बुद्धिमानों द्वारा आहूत और प्रेरित होकर, इंद्र (आत्मा) के लिए ब्रह्मांड में प्रवाहित होते हैं।

तिस्रो वाच ईरयति प्र वह्निरृतस्य धीतिं ब्रह्मणो मनीषाम्. गावो यन्ति गोपतिं पृच्छमानाः सोमं यन्ति मतयो वावशानाः
Soma inspires three orders of speech: practical speech that carries on the daily business of life, the thought that conceives of the vibrant immanent divine presence, and the deeper language of silence which is the mode of transcendent reality. The language operations of daily business move in search of the master source of world mystery as in science and philosophy, and the speech of thought and imagination and of love Soma. (Rg. 9-97-34) (The three speeches in Vedic language are Ida, Sarasvati, and Mahi or Bharati as described in Rgveda 1, 13, 9 and Yajurveda 21, 19. Explained another way these are the language of the Rks or knowledge, Yajus

Dynamic and creative languages of love and faith celebrate Soma, the languages of scholars enquiring into reality with thought and analysis concentrate on Soma. It is Soma which, distilled from observation and experience and crystallised in nature and function, is sought to be comprehended or apprehended in the language medium. Indeed all speech media of description, definition, comprehension, apprehension, celebration or adoration arise from Soma and merge into Soma.
गौएँ और धेनुएँ प्रेम और भक्ति के साथ सोम का गान करती हैं, तथा विद्वान भी अपनी बुद्धि से सोम का ही अन्वेषण करते हैं। सोम ही है जो अवलोकन और अनुभव से परिष्कृत होकर, प्रकृति और कार्य में समाहित होकर, भाषा के माध्यम से समझा जाता है। वास्तव में, सभी प्रकार की वाणी सोम से उत्पन्न होती है और सोम में ही विलीन हो जाती है।
Chapter 4 · Verse 861
एवा नः सोम परिषिच्यमान आ पवस्व प्ञुयमानः स्वस्ति. इन्द्रमा विश बृहता मदेन वर्धया वाचम् जनया पुरन्धिम्
Thus, O Soma, served, adored and celebrated with your power and purity, let your presence radiate and purify us for our good and all round well being. Come and settle in the soul with the ecstasy of divinity. Generate and exalt the awareness and speech of vision and celebration communicative of high divine realisation.
हे सोम, अपनी शक्ति और पवित्रता से परिपूर्ण होकर, हमारे कल्याण के लिए हमें प्रकाशित और शुद्ध करें। दिव्य आनंद के साथ आत्मा में निवास करें, और उच्च दिव्य अनुभूति को व्यक्त करने वाली चेतना और वाणी को उत्पन्न करें तथा उन्नत करें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 862
यद् द्याव इन्द्र ते शतं शतं भ्ञुमीरुत स्युः. न त्वा वज्रिन्त्सहस्रं स्ञुर्या अनु न जातमष्ंअ रोदसी
Indra, lord of thunder, if there were a hundred heavens, and if there were a hundred earths, they would not be able to rival you. Not a thousand suns, nor heavens, earths and skies together would match you at the rise in manifestation.
हे इन्द्र देव! यदि स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी सौ-सौ हों, तो भी वे आपकी बराबरी नहीं कर सकते। न तो सहस्त्र सूर्य और न ही स्वर्ग, पृथ्वी और आकाश मिलकर आपकी महिमा का मुकाबला कर सकते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 863
Å पप्राथ महिना वृष्ण्या वृषन् विश्वा शविष्ंह शवसा. अस्माँन् अव मघवन् गोमति व्रजे वज्रि¤चित्राभिर्ञुतिभिः
O lord of the thunderbolt, master and controller of world's wealth, honour and power, most potent and lord of showers of generosity, with your generous and creative power and grandeur you pervade the universe. Pray protect, guide and promote us by your various and wondrous modes of protection and progress in our search for development of lands and cows, knowledge, language and culture.
हे वज्रधारी प्रभु, आप विश्व के धन, सम्मान और शक्ति के स्वामी हैं, अपनी उदारता और अद्भुत शक्तियों से आप ब्रह्मांड में व्याप्त हैं। कृपया अपनी विविध और विस्मयकारी सुरक्षा और प्रगति के माध्यमों से हमारी भूमि, गौधन, ज्ञान, भाषा और संस्कृति के विकास की खोज में हमारी रक्षा करें, मार्गदर्शन करें और उन्नति प्रदान करें।
Chapter 4 · Verse 864
वयं घ त्वा सुतावन्त आपो न वृक्तबर्हिषः. पवित्रस्य प्रस्रवणेषु वृत्रहन् परि स्तोतार आसते
Pavitrasya prasravaƒe¶u vætrahan pari stotåra åsate. Indra, destroyer of evil, darkness and suffering, we, your celebrants, having distilled the soma, spread and occupied the holy grass, we, sit and wait on the vedi for your presence in the flux of life as holy performers, while the flow of pure immortality continues all round in the dynamics of existence.
हे सोम-रस का पान करने वाले, पापों का नाश करने वाले इन्द्र देव, हम आपकी स्तुति करने वाले, पवित्र वेदी पर पवित्र जल के प्रवाह के मध्य, आपके आगमन की प्रतीक्षा में बैठे हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 865
स्वरन्ति त्वा सुते नरो वसो निरेक उक्थिनः. कदा सुतं तृषाण ओक आ गम इन्द्र स्वब्दीव वँन्सगः
Kadå suta≈ tæ¶åƒa oka å gama indra svabd∂va va~nsaga¨. Indra, Vasu, giver of peace and security in self- settlement, while the soma of faith and love has been distilled in the heart and the devotees sing and celebrate your honour in hymns of praise, when would you, keen to join us at the celebration, come to the yajnic hall thirsting to meet the people you love and admire.
हे इन्द्र, जब हृदय में श्रद्धा और प्रेम का सोम आसुत हो जाता है और भक्तगण स्तुति गान करते हुए आपका गुणगान करते हैं, तब आप, जो स्वयं में निवास करते हैं और शांति व सुरक्षा प्रदान करते हैं, उस उत्सव में सम्मिलित होने के इच्छुक होकर, प्रियजनों से मिलने की प्यास से यज्ञशाला में कब पधारेंगे?
Chapter 4 · Verse 866
कण्वेभिर् धृष्णवा धृषद्वाजं दर्षि सह- स्रिणम्. पिशΔगर्ञुपं मघवन् विचर्षणे मक्ष्ञु गोमन्तम् ईमहे
Indra, lord of universal vision, resolute will and irresistible action, ruler and commander of the world's wealth, power and force, we pray, conceive, plan and bring about for the intelligent people of action and ambition a social order of golden beauty and progressive achievement, full of a hundred-fold prosperity of lands and cows, education and culture, and invincible will, strength and advancement free from indecision and delay in action.
हे इन्द्र, जो सर्वज्ञ, दृढ़ संकल्प वाले और विजयशील हैं, हम बुद्धिमान और कर्मठ लोगों के लिए भूमि, गौधन, ज्ञान और शक्ति से परिपूर्ण, सौ गुना समृद्धि वाली, स्वर्णिम और प्रगतिशील सामाजिक व्यवस्था की कामना करते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 867
तरणिरित् सिषासति वाजं पुरन्ध्या युजा. Å व इन्द्रं पुरुह्ञुतम् नमे गिरा नेमिं तष्ंएव सुद्रुवम्
Only the saviour, a person of dynamic will and action joined in the soul with a controlled and dedicated mind, would share wealth and knowledge with the people and distribute it over the deserving. With words of prayer I bow to Indra, the ruler invoked by you all and draw his attention to you just like the carpenter bending flexible wood round as felly of the wheel. (The lord is flexible too, his heart melts with sympathy for the people.)
हे रक्षक, सामर्थ्यवान और कर्मठ पुरुष, जो नियंत्रित और समर्पित मन से आत्मा में जुड़े हैं, वे ही धन और ज्ञान का वितरण करते हैं। मैं उन सभी द्वारा आहूत इंद्र देव को स्तुति से नमन करता हूँ, जैसे बढ़ई पहिये के रिम के लिए लकड़ी को मोड़ता है।

न दुष्ंउतिर् द्रविणोदेषु शस्यते न स्रेधन्तं रयिर्नशत्. सुशक्तिरिन् मघवन् तुभ्यं मावते देष्णम् यत्पार्ये दिवि
By protest and violence the mortal does not win the wealth of life. Nor does wealth oblige the inactive and malevolent. O lord of honour and excellence, right competence dedicated to Divinity is your gift for a person like me which is good on the day of the cross over.
हे ऐश्वर्यवान प्रभु, हिंसा या द्वेष से धन की प्राप्ति नहीं होती, न ही आलसी और दुर्भावनापूर्ण व्यक्ति को धन मिलता है। आपकी कृपा से ही मुझ जैसे भक्त को वह सामर्थ्य प्राप्त होता है जो पारगमन के दिन (मोक्ष प्राप्ति के लिए) कल्याणकारी है।
Chapter 4 · Verse 869
तिस्रो वाच उदीरते गावो मिमन्ति धेनवः. हरिरेति कनिक्रदत्
Harireti kanikradat. Three Vedic voices of knowledge, action and prayer, loud and bold, enlighten and inspire to goodness, organs of perception and volition urge to good action, while earth and milch cows are profuse in fertility, and the lord of bliss, destroyer of suffering, manifests bright and blissful as life goes on in a state of prosperity.
तीन वैदिक वाणी, ज्ञान, कर्म और प्रार्थना की, उद्घोष करती हैं, जो इंद्रियों और संकल्प को सद्गुणों की ओर प्रेरित करती हैं, और पृथ्वी तथा गौएँ प्रचुरता से फलती-फूलती हैं, तथा आनंद के स्वामी, दुखों के नाशक, जीवन को समृद्धि में प्रकाशित करते हैं।

Marjayant∂rdiva¨ ‹i‹um. Holy voices, creators and sustainers of the rule of truth and rectitude, ceaselessly flow around strong, refining and doing honour to the teacher, scholar and learner as they enlighten and sanctify the child of heaven, the rising generation.
हे सत्य और धर्म के रक्षक, पवित्र वाणी निरंतर प्रवाहित होती है, जो गुरु, शिष्य और विद्यार्थी को परिष्कृत और सम्मानित करती है, और स्वर्ग के शिशु, नवोदित पीढ़ी को ज्ञान और पवित्रता से प्रकाशित करती है।

रायः समुद्राँन्श्चतुरोइ᳓स्मभ्यं सोम विश्वतः. Å पवस सहस्रिनः
Flow free, O Soma, divine power, pure and bright, bring us from all around the four oceans of wealth and knowledge a thousandfold.
हे सोम, दिव्य शक्ति, शुद्ध और उज्ज्वल, चारों महासागरों से हमें सहस्त्रों धन और ज्ञान का प्रवाह प्रदान करो।
Chapter 4 · Verse 872
सुतासो मधुमत्तमाः सोमा इन्द्राय मन्- दिनः. पवित्रवन्तो अक्षरं देवान् गच्छन्तु वो मदाः
Filtered, felt and cleansed, honey sweet soma streams, pure and exhilarating, flow for Indra, the soul, and may the exhilarations reach you, noble favourites of divinity.
मधु से परिपूर्ण, शुद्ध किए गए सोम रस की धाराएँ इंद्र और आत्मा के लिए प्रवाहित हो रही हैं, और यह आनंदमय उल्लास देवों के प्रियजनों तक पहुँचे।
Chapter 4 · Verse 873
इन्दुरिन्द्राय पवत इति देवासो अब्रुवन्. वाचस्पतिर् मखस्यते विश्वस्येशान ओजसः
Våcaspatir makhasyate vi‹vasye‹åna ojasa¨. Soma, divine, brilliant and blissful, flows for Indra, the soul, say the noble sages, and thus Soma, divine source and master of speech and thought, ruler and sustainer of the entire world by his own lustre and power, is honoured at all yajnas of knowledge, yoga and austerity, for advancement.
हे देवगण कहते हैं, सोम रस इन्द्र के लिए प्रवाहित होता है। वाणी के स्वामी, विश्व के शासक, अपनी शक्ति से यज्ञों में पूजित होते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 874
सहस्रधारः पवते समुद्रो वाचमिΔ- ख्यः. सोमस्पती रयीणां सखेन्द्रस्य दिवे दिवे
A thousand streams of Soma joy and enlightenment flow, inspiring and purifying. It is a bottomless ocean that rolls impelling the language and thought of new knowledge. It is the preserver, promoter and sustainer of all wealths and honours and a friend of the soul, inspiring and exalting us day by day.
सहस्र धाराओं वाला सोम का यह महासागर वाणी और ज्ञान को प्रवाहित करता है, जो प्रतिदिन आत्मा को धन, सम्मान और आनंद से परिपूर्ण करता है। यह सोम का सागर इंद्र का मित्र है, जो हमें नित्य नई प्रेरणा और उन्नति प्रदान करता है।
Chapter 4 · Verse 875
पवित्रं ते विततं ब्रह्मणस्पते प्रभुर्- गात्राणि पर्येषि विश्वतः. अतप्ततन्ञुर्न तदा- मो अश्नुते शृतास इद्वहन्तः सं तदाशत
Vast and expansive is your holy creation of existence and the voice divine, O Brhaspati, lord of expansive universe. You are the master and supreme passed through the crucibles of discipline cannot reach to that presence, but the mature and seasoned ones who still maintain the ordeal of fire and abide by the presence attain to it and the divine joy.
हे बृहस्पति, आपकी पवित्र रचना और दिव्य वाणी विशाल और विस्तृत है, आप इस विस्तृत ब्रह्मांड के स्वामी हैं। जो अनुशासित नहीं हुए वे उस उपस्थिति तक नहीं पहुँच सकते, परन्तु जो परिपक्व और अनुभवी हैं, वे अग्नि की परीक्षा में बने रहकर उस उपस्थिति और दिव्य आनंद को प्राप्त करते हैं।
Chapter 4 · Verse 876
तपोष्पवित्रं विततं दिवस्पदेइ᳓र्चन्तो अस्य तन्तवो व्यस्थिरन्. अवन्त्यस्य पवितारम्- आशवो दिवः प्र्ष्ंहमधि रोहन्ति तेजसा
The holy light of the cosmic sun extends and lights the regions of heaven where the rays shine and blaze, radiate all round and abide in constancy. Those instant radiations in heavenly state protect the devotee of holy commitment. Indeed the devotees abide there on top of the state of heavenly light with their mind stabilised in peace and joy.
दिव्य प्रकाश से प्रकाशित सूर्य की पवित्र किरणें स्वर्ग लोक में विस्तृत होकर चमकती हैं, जो भक्त के हृदय को शांति और आनंद से भर देती हैं। यह दिव्य प्रकाश भक्तों को सुरक्षित रखता है और उन्हें परम आनंद की अवस्था में स्थिर करता है।

अर्ञुरुचद् उषसः पृश्निरग्रिय उक्षा मिमेति भुवनेषु वाजयुः. मायाविनो ममिरे अस्य मायया नृचक्षसः पितरो गर्भमा दधुः
Lighting up the dawns, stars and planets in space, the sun, prime and abundant source of light, warmth of life and waters of sustenance, giver of food and energy shines over the regions of the world. उषाकाल, नक्षत्रों और लोकों को प्रकाशित करने वाला सूर्य, जीवन और जल का प्रचुर स्रोत, विश्व के क्षेत्रों में विजय प्राप्त करता है। उसकी माया से, विद्वान ब्रह्मांडीय गणना करते हैं और मानव तथा देवत्व का अध्ययन करने वाले विद्वान, जीवन के मूल बीज और ऊर्जा के स्रोत सोम के स्वरूप को समझते हैं।

प्र मँन्हिष्ंहाय गायत ऋताव्ने बृहते शुक्र- शोचिषे. उपस्तुतासो अग्नये
O celebrants of divinity, sing songs of adoration in honour of adorable Agni, most generous, leader of the paths of truth, great and glorious, lord of pure light of divinity and fire of action.
हे दिव्य उत्सव मनाने वालो, सत्य के मार्गदर्शक, महान और तेजस्वी, दिव्य प्रकाश और कर्म की अग्नि के स्वामी, परम आराध्य अग्नि की स्तुति में गीत गाओ।

Å व¤सते मघवा वीरवद्यशः समिद्धो द्युम्न्याहुतः. कुविन्नो अस्य सुमतिर्भवी- यस्यच्छा वाजेभिरागमत्
Lord of universal wealth and power, light of life, invoked and lighted, gives us honour and fame worthy of the brave. May his love and good will come and bless us with all possible honours, power and prosperity with progressive success.

तम् ते मदं गृणीमसि वृषणं पृक्षु सास- हिम्. उ लोककृत्नुम् अद्रिवो हरिश्रियम्
Indra, lord of adamantine will and generous disposition like clouds of rain, we celebrate and glorify that power and heavenly joy of yours which is virile and generous, heroic in battles and steadfast against challenges, creative in the worlds of existence and gracious in advancement and gifts of bliss.
हे इन्द्र देव, हम आपकी उस शक्ति और आनंद का गान करते हैं जो वीर, उदार, युद्ध में पराक्रमी और दृढ़ है, लोकों का निर्माण करने वाली और सुख-समृद्धि प्रदान करने वाली है।

येन ज्योतीँन्ष्यायवे मनवे च विवेदिथ. मन्दानो अस्य बर्हिषो वि राजसि
Mandåno asya barhi¶o vi råjasi. We celebrate and adore that power and divine joy of yours by which you reveal the light of life to the mortals from generation to generation and, exalted by which, you shine and rule over the yajnic dynamics of this universe.
जिससे आप मनुष्यों के लिए जीवन का प्रकाश प्रकट करते हैं और जिससे आप इस ब्रह्मांड की यज्ञीय व्यवस्था पर विराजमान होकर शासन करते हैं।

तदद्या चित्त उक्थिनोइ᳓नु ष्ंउवन्ति प्ञुर्वथा. वृषपत्नीरपो जया दिवे दिवे
Væ¶apatn∂rapo jayå dive dive. That divine power and joyous generosity of yours, today, saints and scholars of the holy Word and song sing and celebrate as ever before. O lord, conquer and control the waters of space collected in the mighty clouds and let them flow day by day.
हे प्रभु, आज संत और विद्वान आपकी उस दिव्य शक्ति और आनंदमयी उदारता का सदा की भांति गान और उत्सव मनाते हैं। हे स्वामी, आप विशाल मेघों में एकत्रित अंतरिक्ष के जल पर विजय प्राप्त करें और उन्हें नियंत्रित करें, जिससे वे प्रतिदिन प्रवाहित हों।

›रुधि हवं तिरश्च्या इन्द्र यस्त्वा सपर्यति. सुवीर्यस्य गोमतो रायस्प्ञुर्धि महाँन् असि
Suv∂ryasya gomato råyaspμurdhi mahå~n asi. Indra, listen to the invocation of the devotee's voice of deep silence who offers service and homage to you, and bless the devotee with wealth of brave progeny, lands, cows, knowledge and total fulfilment. You are great, unbounded is your munificence.
हे इन्द्र, जो आपकी सेवा करता है, उसकी मौन पुकार को सुनो और उसे वीर संतान, भूमि, गौधन, ज्ञान और पूर्णता से युक्त धन प्रदान करो। आप महान हैं, आपकी उदारता असीम है।

यस्त इन्द्र नवीयसीं गिरं मन्द्रामजीजनत्. चिकित्विन्मनसं धियं प्रत्नामृतस्य पिप्युषीम्
Cikitvinmanasa≈ dhiya≈ pratnåmætasya pipyu¶∂m. Indra, whoever creates and offers you the latest song of joyous adoration, you bless with a mind and intelligence for eternal illumination, universal understanding and wisdom, and dedication to exuberant awareness of eternal truth and law.
हे इन्द्र, जो नवीन स्तुतियों से आपको प्रसन्न करता है, आप उसे शाश्वत ज्ञान, सार्वभौमिक समझ और आनंदमय चेतना से परिपूर्ण करते हैं।

तमु ष्ंअवाम यं गिर इन्द्रम् उक्थ्यानि वावृ- धुः. पुर्ञुण्यस्य पौँन्स्या सिषासन्तो वना- महे
हे इन्द्रदेव! हम स्तुतिगान करते हुए आपकी महिमा का गान करते हैं, और आपकी शक्ति, यश और उत्कृष्टता के अनेक रूपों के लिए प्रार्थना करते हैं।
